Chapter 690

    ?Chapter 690:

However, recently, Raymond had been unable to get in touch with Bryan and was hesitant to inquire about what could have happened.

Even after such a significant event, Bryan was nowhere to be seen, leaving Eileen to handle the situation on her own. Thispelled Raymond to finally voice his concerns.

“Bryan has been given the antidote and is still in the recovery phase. I’m not certain how long his recuperation will take,” Eileen responded, unable to voice her doubts about whether Bryan would ever wake up.

Turning away, Raymond retrieved a shopping bag from his suitcase, ced it on the desk, and slid it toward Eileen.

“Zelda gave me this,” he exined. “She found it in Mr. Dawson’s room after he left the vige.”

Eileen opened the bag to discover several intricately carved wooden figurines, each with distinctly t edges. There were a few cartoon characters along with some small animals.

One was distinctly darker than the rest; it was two people together.

Bryan had once captured a photograph of Eileen and Gabri in a simr pose. The figurine showed Eileen cradling Gabri, her head bowed, a gentle smile on her face.

Eileen touched the figurine with her fingertips, as though she could sense thefort Bryan had drawn from it during his extended stay in the small vige.

She started to cry, her tears clouding her vision.

“Ms. Curtis, someone is sabotaging the project from behind the scenes. I’ve initiated an investigation and will update you as soon as possible. Please take some time to rest,” Raymond noticed Eileen’s distress.

Taking a deep breath, Eileen dabbed her eyes with a tissue. Onceposed, she dered, “I anticipate they’ll act soon. Alert the public rtions team to implement the emergency protocols, ensure all innocents involved are reassured, and seize every chance to catch the traitor.”

She then stood up, putting all the figurines back into the bag. “I’ll go to the hospital.”

She just couldn’t stay away from the hospital for long. She had told Josue and the others to encourage them to resume their everyday lives.

However, upon her arrival at the hospital, she learned that Josue and the others had just visited and left.

ording to the caregiver, Josue and Jacob had spent over an hour in the ward, sitting silently without engaging in any conversation or activity, before departing.

Eileen settled into a chair, methodically pulling out each figurine from the bag and arranging them on the table.

Then, she carefully ced the figurine representing herself and Gabri into Bryan’s hand.

“The wood feels cold,” she murmured. “You should wake up and hug me and Gabri instead.”

She adjusted Bryan’s grip on the figurine, ensuring his hand wasn’t too close to the edge of the bed.
