Chapter 681

    ?Chapter 681:

Overwhelmed, Eileen covered her face with her hands. Tears streamed through her fingers, and her shoulders shook with silent sobs.

“Eileen…” Phoebe, witnessing Eileen’s distress, felt a pang of sadness as well. She reached out and enveloped Eileen in aforting embrace, trying to offer her some strength.

But soon, Eileen gently pulled away from Phoebe’s arms. With a strained voice and tear-filled eyes, she said, “Phoebe, please give me a few minutes.”

Though worried, Phoebe nodded and said, “I’ll wait for you outside. Just call me if you need anything.”

Eileen’s brow furrowed as she gazed out the window. The darkness outside seemed to stretch out like a hand reaching for her, leaving her breathless and devoid of hope.

The few minutes Eileen had asked for were really just moments for her to vent her frustration.

As Eileen walked out of the ward, Phoebe heard her footsteps and immediately got up from the bench. She saw Eileen stand before her with resolve in her eyes.

Eileen hadposed herself. Her long hair was neatly tied back, giving her a more resilient appearance. Besides the red rims around her eyes, a gauze-wrapped wound adorned her forehead.

“This is the medicine the doctor prescribed,” Phoebe said, handing Eileen the medication Josue had given her.

Eileen epted it with a curt nod. “I’ll go find him,” she said.

It was clear to everyone that “him” meant Bryan.

Phoebe, Josue, and Jacob exchanged nces before trailing after Eileen.

They all went to Bryan’s hospital room. After a moment of standing by Bryan’s bed, Eileen finally spoke up. “Regardless of whether he can hear us, I want to make our ns in front of him. There’s no need for us to stay here constantly to keep watch. I’ll arrange for a caregiver to look after him. You can visit when you’re free, and I won’t being here every day either.”

Eileen had once centered her life entirely around Bryan, but now, Gabri was also a part of her world. Their friends, too, had their ownmitments, and they couldn’t remain in the hospital all the time.

No one knew the effort Eileen had put into making this decision.

Josue nced at Bryan, his brow furrowing as he nearly lost hisposure. If they were barely holding on, how could Eileen manage?

Phoebe stood behind Jacob, her tears falling quietly.

“You’re right,” Jacob said with a forced smile, trying to lighten the mood. “If Bryan could hear us now, it would bring him joy to hear you making this decision. When the ne crash happened, we didn’t think he’d make it back. Now, it’s not worse than that.”

“Yes,” Eileen replied with a strained smile. She took a deep breath, sat down beside Bryan, and gently warmed his cold hands. “Bryan, did you hear what I said? We’ll return to our daily routines from now on.”
