?Chapter 657:
Eileen’s face grew somber as she read thest two messages, and she ced the phone back down. Without uttering a word, she headed to the kitchen to assist Ruby.
After lunch, she concocted an excuse to go meet Denise. Just as she was about to leave, Bryan rushed downstairs, and they crossed paths at the entrance.
“Where are you headed?” Bryan asked, noticing the car keys in her hand. “Let me give you a ride.”
“No, it’s not necessary. I’m going to meet Josue,” Bryan answered, while changing his shoes. Leaning against the entryway cab, he pulled Eileen into his arms. “We’re getting married tomorrow. Why are you leaving without informing me? Are you trying to run away?”
Eileen was momentarily at a loss for words.
She jabbed Bryan’s chest with her finger and said, “If I had wanted to escape, why would I have gone through all the effort to bring you back? I could have simply left you in that vige and watched you marry Zelda!”
Bryan’s eyes narrowed at the mention of Zelda. “Stop always bringing up the vige and Zelda when we argue. She stirs up jealousy in you; it’s time for you to let it go.”
“Stop ttering yourself; I’m not jealous,” Eileen replied. “Why are you meeting with Josue? Has he got news about Christos?”
Out of the blue, Bryan consented to tie the knot. While he decided against avish wedding, he intentionally made sure the press was aware of it. This was a departure from his usual way of doing things, and Eileen suspected Bryan was keeping something from her.
“Yes, it’s about Christos. The specifics are unclear, but I’ll fill you inpletely when I get back,” Bryan softly pinched Eileen’s nose and spoke to her gently. “I’m not keeping secrets from you; I just want to avoid adding to your worries.”
He knew that although Eileen remained calm on the outside, internally, she was wrestling with a multitude of thoughts, having endured so many challenges. He worried that she might be overly fatigued.

Eileen averted her gaze, seized his wrist, and gently removed his hand. “Keep me informed if anythinges up,” she said.
“Of course, Curtis,” Bryan teased. They left the house together—Eileen heading off to meet Denise, and Bryan making his way directly to Josue’s ce.
The Seaside Cafe was conveniently located close to Eileen’s residence, and she arrived after a brief ten-minute drive. The moment she stepped out of the car, she spotted Denise seated by the window in an upstairs private room. Denise was scanning the cafe’s interior, oblivious to Eileen’s arrival.
Once inside, Eileen told the waiter Denise’s name, and the waiter guided her to the upper floor. The door to the room was partially open. Eileen requested the waiter to return downstairs, choosing to enter the room by herself.
Treading softly on the red carpet, she quietly pushed open the wooden door, which made no sound. Denise, now positioned by the window, was gazing down at the street, muttering to herself. “Ruby, you’re dependent on Eileen. Don’t try to convince me you’re broke. A bit of Eileen’s money couldst for generations. If you don’t get me a vi today, I…”
