Chapter 633

    ?Chapter 633:

Just then, Eileen’s phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. It was a call from Josue.

“Eileen, get to the hospital now,” Josue said urgently.

Eileen felt a wave of unease wash over her. “What happened?”

“You’ll find out when you get here. It’s urgent!” Josue replied, quickly ending the call.

Her heart sank as she hurried downstairs, Gabri in her arms. Huey was engrossed in a game by the bay window, and Bailee and Ruby were talking. As soon as they saw Eileen rushing, they both stood up.

“I need to get to the hospital now. Please take care of Gabri for me,” Eileen said.

Ruby took Gabri from Eileen, and in the next moment, Eileen was changing her shoes on the porch.

Seeing this made Ruby worry. “Please be careful on your way. Maybe Huey could drive you instead?”

“No, thank you.” Eileen declined the offer and drove straight to the hospital.

Her nerves were on edge the entire drive, and in her rush, she ran two red lights.

In the hospital room, Bryany on the bed, staring nkly at the ceiling. When he heard the door open, he turned his head slightly to look.

Eileen, her face etched with worry, rushed over to him, but after a moment, her gaze shifted to Josue, who was still engrossed in a game on the sofa.

Without lifting his head from his phone, Josue remarked, “You arrived quickly. You need to keep Bryan in line. He’s been trying to escape just to see you.”

Earlier that day, when Bryan returnedte, the doctor had revoked the previous arrangement that Bryan only needed to be in the hospital for his afternoon IV drip at three. His tardiness had caused the doctor to lose trust in him.

Eileen didn’t want to be med for “luring” Bryan out of the hospital, so she had been diligently focusing on her work in the past days. But Bryan was clearly not satisfied with just phone calls and daily chats with Eileen.

He had attempted to leave the hospital several times, and it was clear that Josue could no longer control him.

“Bryan tried to leave under the pretext of needing breakfast at eight this morning,” Josue exined. “Jacob stopped him then. He tried the same thing at noon, and I stopped him. I hoped he would relent after two failed attempts, but he still tried to slip away when it was time for his nap. If he leaves then, he won’t make it back for his three o’clock IV drip. That’s why I had to call you.”

Hearing this, Eileen frowned at Bryan.

Despite being confined to the bed and unable to move, Bryan’s expression showed a hint of defiance. “I just wanted to get some fresh air in the garden downstairs,” he said.

“The garden downstairs?” Eileen asked, clearly amused. “Whose garden are you talking about?”

His vague excuse didn’t fool her.

“Eileen, please stay with him for a moment,” Josue said as he received a message. He turned off his game, quickly getting up. “He needs to start his IV drip in ten minutes. I have to step out for a bit.”

    “Alright,” Eileen replied.
