    Eileen’s eyes widened slightly as she quickly retrieved the wooden box from her bag. “So, this must be the finalponent of the drug?”


    Josue was so stunned upon seeing the box that he almost lost his grip on Gabri.


    “You went to see Travis?” he asked, his voice tinged with surprise.


    “No, I contacted him using Z’s phone. But he recognized me and arranged for someone to deliver this to me,” Eileen replied. She took Gabri from Josue’s arms and entered the ward.


    The soft babbling of Gabri quickly filled the otherwise quiet room. Bryan, who had been sitting on the bed, engrossed in his phone while looking at photos of Gabri, looked up sharply and tossed his phone aside.


    Before Bryan could react, Eileen had already ced Gabri in his arms.


    “Travis gave me this box.” Eileen had refrained from questioning Bryan about his search for Travis earlier, fearing he might not give her an honest answer. But after learning that the item in the box could be the antidote, she didn’t care about anything else.


    She held the small box in her hand, carefully examining it.


    Bryan paid no attention to the box; his focus was entirely on securely cradling Gabri.


    “The most crucial item for your life is now in Eileen’s hands. Just let me hold Gabri,” Josue said, eager not to miss the opportunity to hold the child.


    Josue moved swiftly, and due to Bryan’s limited mobility, he could only watch as Josue took Gabri from his arms.


    Bryan then turned his attention to the small wooden box that Eileen held.

    He took the box, gently shook it, and frowned as he examined it.


    “The box contains a liquid. It’s delicate and cannot be opened forcefully; a password is required,” Eileen exined.


    Concerned that Bryan might damage it, Eileen quickly seized his wrist to stop him.


    “So, if all three attempts are used up, the password will reset?” Josue said, his voice full of understanding. “No wonder Travis is Coen’s son. Only he would think of this method!”


    A glimmer of hope appeared in Bryan’s eyes. He turned to Josue and instructed, “Call in the technical staff.”


    Even with the experts, breaking the code wouldn’t be easy and could take time.


    Given the gravity of the situation, Josue reached out to Jacob to enlist the help of specialists capable of cracking passwords.


    Eileen, Gabri, and Bryan spent the night together in the ward. Gabri still slept peacefully in the unfamiliar setting, nestled between Eileen and Bryan.


    The following morning, with an early meeting ahead, Eileen took Gabri back home.


    Before leaving, Bryan advised her not to bring Gabri to the hospital too often, but Eileen could sense his reluctance in offering the suggestion. She also noticed that Bryan was making a deliberate effort to distance himself from her in his own way.


    Eileen was filled with a mix of emotions as she drove back to the neighborhood. When she spotted Ruby standing motionless outside, she stopped her car by the roadside, got out, and slowly walked over.


    Just as she was about to speak to Ruby, a conversation from a nearby group caught her attention.


    “I’ve heard Ruby’s daughter is doing well now, but Ruby is still living with Eileen.”
