Chapter 618

    ?Chapter 618:

The watchful eyes of the other inmates made her feel a bit scared.

“You’ll be staying here with them,” the prison guard announced, opening a door.

Inside, about eight burly women lounged on beds. Their gazes were more menacing and unnerving than anyone Z had encountered before.

Instinctively, Z turned to flee, but the guard shoved her inside.

She fell awkwardly, pain shooting through her body.

“Hey, newbie, fetch me some water to wash my feet!” A group of prisoners surrounded a short-haired woman. The woman, her neck adorned with tattoos, clearlymanded authority.

Still in pain, Z didn’t respond immediately. One of the women quickly walked over and pped her across the face. “Boss is talking to you!”

“What do you think you’re doing?” Z cried out, clutching her face. “This is a prison; there arews—ouch!”

Before she could finish, a sharp pain shot through her lower abdomen. Several women crowded around, nding blows on her.

Half an hourter, bruised and limping, Z fetched a basin of water. She was forced to squat and wash the boss’s feet.

As soon as Z finished, the short-haired woman grabbed her hair and shoved her onto the bed. The others poured the filthy water from the basin into her mouth.

The rancid smell made Z gag, but she couldn’t move. She retched, but each time she opened her mouth, more dirty water was forced in.

After what felt like an eternity, the torture finally stopped. Z was soaked, her clothes clinging to her.

“Didn’t we agree that if I epted you as my boss and followed your orders, you wouldn’t bully me?” Z asked.

The short-haired womanughed loudly. “Don’t you get it? We’re targeting you. You’ll suffer for two years here. Someone must hate you so much to ask me and my people to torture you. You know, no one has ever gotten out of my hands alive. But the person who sent you to me asked that I keep you alive for the two years you’re here.”

Z felt a cold dread settle in. She felt as if she had descended into her own personal hell.

Meanwhile, Milford was ced in a private cell, and the guard brought him books. Among the books was a new one, freshly opened. Milford turned to the first page and saw the familiar handwriting.

“If you survive, you’ll emerge stronger.”

Eileen had Z’s phone. At three in the afternoon, during a meeting, she received a message on Z’s phone.

    “What’s going on with Eileentely?”

    The message was from Travis.

Eileen stood up abruptly and addressed the room, “Let’s take a thirty-minute break.”

She reviewed the chat history between Travis and Z multiple times before replying in Z’s tone.

“Bryan is still alive. He and his people seem to be looking for you.”

After a while, Travis responded, “Finding me isn’t hard, but they’ll likely overthink it.”

Eileen took a screenshot of the chat and sent it to Bryan.
