Chapter 606

    ?Chapter 606:

Josue caught it swiftly and retorted, “You onlysh out at us. Would you dare show this attitude to Eileen? She hasn’t even visited you.”

Bryan’s expression darkened. Eileen hadn’t visited him since he was admittedst night. He turned over and shut his eyes, seemingly trying to sleep.

Sensing Bryan’s irritation, Josue didn’t dare provoke him further. He settled onto the sofa with the pillow, fully expecting that Eileen would visit Bryan by tomorrow at thetest.

Yet, three days passed without her visit. Bryan’s expression grew darker with each passing day. It wasn’t until the fourth day, when photos of Eileen, Benjamin, and Gabri having lunch together surfaced, that Josue realized Eileen was truly determined.

When the ident happened, they had kept the real situation about Bryan from the public, only telling the media that it was an ident. Since then, Bryan hadn’t been seen in public for months.

Images of Eileen and Benjamin enjoying a meal with Gabri were now sshed across the media, highlighting their cheerful interaction. The public believed Eileen had moved on.

All of Bryan and Eileen’s past promises and shared happiness now seemed insincere. Yet, there was no solid evidence, and the media only hinted at the situation.

That afternoon, Jacob dragged Eileen to Bryan’s hospital room. The sunlight filtered in just right. Bryan had been in the hospital for several days, and shielded from the harsh outdoor elements of the vige, he looked noticeably better. Still, his movements were stiff.

He turned to look at Eileen and clearly noticed her displeasure with Jacob’s actions.

“Don’t leave, Eileen!” Jacob positioned himself by the door, fearing she might try to escape.

“I won’t leave,” Eileen said firmly. She had no intention of running. She straightened her disheveled clothes and walked over to Bryan’s bed. “We were together once. I bore him a child. It’s only right that I visit him.”

Josue scoffed. “You didn’t even bring anything, so you really just came to see him.”

“Jacob didn’t give me a chance to buy anything,” Eileen retorted.

She lowered her head and studied Bryan’s sharp profile. He wasn’t looking at her anymore. She couldn’t tell if he was upset or simply thought it was right for her to be there.

Perhaps due to his recent work in the vige, the veins on the back of his hand were more pronounced.

“How has your treatment been going?” Eileen asked directly, aware Josue and the others wouldn’t be honest with her.

As expected, Josue responded, “He’s quietly battling something… that he’s really missing you.”

“Really?” Eileen stepped back, her hand in her pocket, and leaned against the bed’s edge. “If you don’t tell anyone, no one knows about your secret troubles. Just refuse to acknowledge them until someone else points them out. That’s unnecessary.”

“You two, step outside,” Bryan suddenly said, gesturing for Josue and Jacob to leave.

Jacob sensed the tension in the room was too intense.
