Chapter 582

    ?Chapter 582:

“You can hold her. I’m right here to help. Don’t worry; she won’t fall,” Josue assured Bryan as he encouraged him to hold Gabri.

Fortunately, Bryan’s arms were strong enough to lift Gabri, but she constantly moved in his arms. His frail condition made it hard for him to react quickly, and he risked her falling.

Luckily, Josue kept a steady hand on Gabri’s back. He watched as Gabri kissed Bryan on the cheek.

The scene touched Josue deeply, nearly making him cry.

As she babbled, Gabri yfully poked Bryan’s face and pinched his lips. She showed no signs of unfamiliarity with him. After over an hour, Josue took Gabri back for lunch. In the afternoon, he managed to coax her into taking a nap.

Eileen spent the afternoon sitting by the second-floor window, lost in thought. By evening, she still couldn’t make sense of her emotions and had developed a headache. She went downstairs and brought some wine back up. She thought maybe getting drunk would help her release some pent-up emotions and find the strength to keep going.

When Raymond saw Eileen carrying wine upstairs, he became concerned and discreetly approached Jacob and Josue. “Ms. Curtis has taken some wine upstairs. Is she going to be alright?” Raymond asked.

It was already nine o’clock, and the darkness outside seemed to mirror the uncertainty within. Josue believed Eileen might be struggling to sleep. He waved his hand and suggested, “Maybe you should stay by her door, Raymond, just in case she needs help?”

“That won’t be necessary,” Jacob quickly replied. “Go back to your room, and don’te out even if you hear any noise.”

Raymond felt uneasy, as though something big might happen. Jacob gave Josue a meaningful look, and Josue quickly understood. “Yes, you can go now. We’ll look after Eileen. Don’t you have work early tomorrow?” Josue said, urging Raymond to return to his room. Raymond’s room was the southernmost one on the first floor.

Although unsure of Jacob and Josue’s ns, Raymond trusted they wouldn’t harm Eileen and returned to his room.

Jacob then dialed Bryan. “Eileen is nearly drinking herself to death. Don’t you care?”

    Every journey starts at gα?ησν????s?c????

    Bryan ended the call abruptly.

In just over ten minutes, he reached Eileen’s house. Someone from the Dury family had escorted him here on an electric bicycle.

As he gazed at the faint light glowing from the second-floor window, Bryan paused briefly before entering the house.

Jacob had been waiting for him. “Josue managed to get Gabri to sleep. I checked on Eileen upstairs; she’s very drunk. You should go check on her.”

Bryan eyed the staircase. Although it was only two stories, climbing them seemed daunting.

“Come on, let me help you go upstairs,” Jacob said, walking over to assist Bryan.

Minutester, Bryan opened the bedroom door. The soft light illuminated the figure on the bed.

Eileeny there, holding half a bottle of wine, her cheeks flushed, her disheveled appearance a stark contrast to the usualposed woman Bryan knew.

Bryan sat at the edge of the bed, watching her inebriated state. It was a sight he had never witnessed before.
