?Chapter 552:
It wasn’t until eight in the morning that Gabri stirred awake. Ruby carried her out from the bedroom and found Eileen seated at the dining table.
Eileen had prepared four breakfasts, including a special meal just for Gabri.
She set the table as she would have when Bryan was home, intentionally omitting the ketchup from his portion.
Eileen rested her chin on her hands, gazing at the table.
“Eileen, you don’t have to wait for us,” Ruby said as she took a seat. “The food is getting cold.”
“It’s fine. I wanted to have breakfast with you,” Eileen replied, then got up to reheat the food.
She added, “I had this feeling that Bryan wasn’t really away on a trip, so I made an extra te. I won’t reheat his portion; I’ll just freeze it. When he gets back, he can have it then. After all, I rarely cook breakfast for him.”
Before Ruby could respond, the doorbell rang.
The urgency in the sound caused Eileen’s hands to shake.
Two tes slipped from her grasp, crashing to the floor and breaking.
“Are you okay? Did you get hurt?” Ruby quickly pulled Eileen away from the shattered ss.
But Eileen’s attention was fixed on the door, not the broken dishes. The door rattled with persistent knocking.
“Mom, look after Gabri. I’ll open the door,” Eileen said.

Before Ruby could react, Eileen had already dashed to the door.
Upon seeing Josue outside, Eileen involuntarily held her breath.
Her hand tightened on the doorknob as she asked, “What brings you here?”
“Eileen, I…” Josue began, struggling to find the right words.
They exchanged a look, the silence thickening the tension between them.
“Is Bryan away on business, or did he go after Coen?” Eileen asked, but it seemed like she already knew the answer.
“She’s stronger than you might think, but also more delicate than she appears.”
Josue suddenly recalled Bryan’s words and slowly nodded, as if finally understanding.
“Where is he now? Did he manage to catch Coen?” Eileen asked.
“Bryan nted a bomb on Coen’s helicopter. Coen and his men are dead,” Josue said, then paused, unable to continue.
Eileen smiled suddenly and said, “I knew he’d seed. He should tell me the details himself.”
“Stop fooling yourself,” Josue replied.
When Eileen started to close the door, Josue stopped her, asking, “Do you want to keep waiting for nothing, or are you ready to hear what I have to say?”
Eileen’s smile faded quickly. She turned and went back inside, leaving the door open for Josue. He followed her in and closed the door.
Eileen asked Ruby to take Gabri upstairs and then sat down across from Josue. “I don’t need all the details. Just tell me where he is.”
