Chapter 539

    ?Chapter 539:

Once the blood collection concluded, Josue and Jacob rested against a tree, quietly watching Bryan’s back.

After a while, Bryan said, “No need for you to wait here. You can go back now. I’ll update you if anything arises.”

Emerging from the dark, he was bathed in the orange light of the streetmps.

When he went back, he hardly slept, spending the night in Gabri’s ward. She slept more soundly as the night progressed. He stayed watching her for a long period before leaving.

Instead of going back to Eileen’s ward, he took out his phone and made a call.

“Check if Mr. Watts from Onnd and Mr. Wright from Linder Land have been active recently,” Bryan said.

“Why are you looking into them?” asked Raymond, puzzled.

“Brandon previously gathered evidence against Mr. Watts and Mr. Wright to secure a government-business coboration project. That evidence was probably given by Coen, who dared to settle openly in Onnd because he has leverage over Mr. Wright and Mr. Watts,” Bryan replied.

Bryan had spent the entire afternoon contemting how to locate Coen.

With Dewitt’s team not caring about hostages, the fact that Coen had fled and vanished suggested he was under someone’s protection.

Raymond understood Bryan immediately. “I’m on it now!”

After ending the call, Bryan went back to Eileen’s room. Overwhelmed and stressed, he dozed off next to her.

But his sleep was troubled, filled with dreams that changed direction midway.

When Eileen woke up early in the morning, she noticed Bryan’s frown as he slept. As she reached out to calm him, he suddenly sped her wrist.

Their eyes locked in a cautious exchange until Bryan realized his reaction and let go.

“What’s wrong?” Eileen asked, touching his forehead.

Bryan shook his head. “I had a bad dream about yesterday. It scared me, too.”

Eileen’s heart sank at his words. Wasn’t everyone scared?

However, she knew Bryan’s fear wasn’t about Coen.

It was the fear of Gabri being in their grasp.

“It’s over now. Let’s see if we can get Gabri discharged and take her home,” Eileen suggested, eager to leave the hospital soon.

As Bryan watched Eileen get out of bed, his mind went nk for a few seconds.

With a frown, he scanned the room and then stood up.

Gabri was ready to be discharged. Eileen asked Bryan to handle the paperwork while she went to Gabri’s room.

Gabri sat quietly, her usual smile gone, her big ck eyes darting around.
