?Chapter 483:
“It’s about Brandon,” Christos said, looking hopefully at Eileen.
However, Eileen had little interest in delving into Brandon’s secrets. “I was only interested in the information about Mr. Wright and Mr. Watts. You don’t have to share more if you don’t want to.”
“Oh,e on!” Christos became visibly anxious and pulled a wrinkled piece of paper from his pocket. It was a medical report from the hospital, confirming that Brandon had undergone an amputation due to a car ident.
“This—” Eileen was at a loss for words.
“Looks like you didn’t know Brandon’s big secret,” Christos said, tapping his forehead. “Given that you’re his daughter-inw, it’s surprising you didn’t know. Only a few people closely connected to the Dawson family are aware, and they keep quiet about it. Most people have no idea.” Eileen was among those who had no clue.
Christos, unable to hide his sense of superiority, continued, “Ever wonder why Brandon and the previous Apex Group CEO had such a huge fallout?”
Eileen was taken aback by his seemingly all-knowing attitude. “Does Travis really share everything with you?”
“Absolutely. We’re close friends. We share everything,” Christos replied confidently.
Eileen was about to leave with the documents, but his demeanor made her hesitate. “Alright, tell me then. What else do you know?”
Christos rolled up his sleeves, prepared to start from the beginning. “It’s all about the Dawson family’s wealth. Brandon was known for his affairs, and his wife discovered that one of them had resulted in a pregnancy. Before he could deal with it, he had the car ident I mentioned.”
Christos’ ent made the story sound almostical. “But that’s not the main issue.
The real problem is that the mistress disappeared, and Brandon suspects his wife yed a part in that.

“He thought this would ensure that the Dawson family’s fortune would pass solely to Apex Group’s former CEO, his son. That’s why he sought revenge.”
What truly troubled Brandon, however, wasn’t just his son inheriting the wealth or his mistress’ disappearance. It was the fact that he was no longer aplete man. If this became public knowledge, it would make him a target for mockery.
During his recovery, he had been consumed by bitterness. As a result, he had chosen not to rescue Bryan’s mother, instead leaving the inheritance to Travis, someone who wasn’t even rted to him by blood, rather than Bryan. This was his way of expressing his resentment.
Eileen felt a twinge of sympathy for Brandon but also recognized that those deserving of pity often had their own despicable sides. However, if the ident had truly been just that—an ident—then what had really happened to Brandon’s pregnant mistress? If it hadn’t been Bryan’s mother who had done something to Brandon’s mistress, could this have been a deliberate plot? A scheme to stir up internal conflict within the Dawson family?
“Eileen, are you impressed with how much I know?” Christos grinned at her. “Ask me anything else you’re curious about.”
Eileen wasn’t very familiar with Travis and Lydia. She had simply assumed that Lydia had married Brandon for his money.
