Chapter 470

    ?Chapter 470:

But Bryan’s dream wasn’t about Eileen leaving—it was the fear of her disappearing without a trace.

That kind of disappearance… It might not be something within Eileen’s power to prevent.

The unspoken fears clogged Bryan’s throat.

Eileen said, “Let’s not talk of running away. Even if I die, I’ll find you in heaven someday—”

Her words pierced Bryan’s heart, prompting a sharp intake of breath. He pressed his lips to hers, silencing her words.

His kiss was so intense it left her breathless, her cheeks flushing a vivid red, her mind spinning.

When Bryan finally pulled away, he warned, “Don’t ever say that again.”

“Okay,” Eileen responded, taking in a deep breath. Yet she couldn’t help but add, “Let’s make a pact then. No one leaves. And if one of us does, they… They’ll be a puppy.”

Bryan’sugh broke through his somber mood. Eileen’s attempt to lighten the atmosphere had worked.

He extended his pinky, linking it with hers. “Deal. The one who leaves is a puppy and must bark when we see each other again.”

“I can do a good dog impression,” Eileen said seriously.

Bryan snorted and replied, “Really? Everyone can bark.”

“But my bark is unique,” Eileen said with confidence.

His curiosity piqued, Bryan raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Let’s hear it then.”

Clearing her throat, Eileen said, “Well, show me how a dog barks first.”

    “What?” Bryan furrowed his brows.

    “What?” Eileen mimicked him.

The next second, Bryan’s hand slid beneath Eileen’s shirt, grazing her ticklish belly. She squirmed, giggling uncontrobly.

He continued his yful torment until tears pooled in her eyes, and she begged him to stop. Bryan, however, didn’t relent.

    “Ahh—”

Their yful noise roused Gabri, who propped herself up, rubbing her eyes. She gazed at them and let out a series of sounds.

Eileen quickly shoved Bryan aside, and they both sat up to face Gabri.

“Hee hee…” Gabri’s light-hearted giggle caught Eileen off guard, tugging at her emotions and making her heart melt.

As evening fell, Bailee and Huey arrived at their nned dinner spot.

Huey parked the car, pocketed the keys, and led Bailee inside, holding her hand.
