Chapter 463

    ?Chapter 463:

From behind the floor-to-ceiling window, Eileen observed as Bailee sped away, with Huey following closely behind.

“They’ve left?” Ruby inquired, drying her hands and noticing the now vacant space.

    “Yes, they have,” Eileen replied.

Ruby shook her head in dismay. “I hadn’t even finished my sentence when Bailee lost her temper. I couldn’t calm her down.”

Ruby had been recounting how Huey had denied their marriage and had agreed to meet another woman. Before Ruby had a chance to assess the situation or discuss the next steps with Bailee, Bailee had already stormed off.

“She’s so impulsive,” Eileenmented, her voice tinged with concern. “In any rtionship, at least one person needs to have the maturity to avoid causing harm to both parties.”

“What should we do now?” Ruby asked, her voice filled with helplessness. Ruby, known for her calm demeanor, found herself unable to confront Winona on Bailee’s behalf.

Clearly, leaving Bailee and Huey to sort things out on their own had only caused more pain for Bailee.

“I’ll talk to Baileeter,” Eileen said, though she had intended to discuss things face-to-face before Bailee hurried off.

In the end, Eileen had no choice but to send a message.

The message read, “While you both may bepatible personality-wise, learning to adapt can make the rtionship much smoother. Huey’s actions show ack of maturity, and continuing like this will only cause you more distress. If you could take a moment to maturely consider the bigger picture before acting, perhaps things would unfold differently.”

Bailee received Eileen’s message while on her way home, still without Huey in sight.

After an hour of contemting Eileen’s words, Huey finally arrived home. Breathing heavily, he switched his shoes at the entrance and paused, eyeing Bailee uncertainly before stepping closer.

    “Bailee…”

“Don’t say anything,” Bailee cut him off, gesturing toward the furthest chair. “Sit down. We need to talk.”

Obediently, Huey sat down, his posture stiff, his hands resting on his knees, waiting for Bailee to begin.

“I can’t keep living this way,” Bailee said, her voice steady but filled with frustration. “I want a proper wedding, not to be hidden like some secret for the rest of my life.”

She fixed her gaze on him with sincere intensity. “You’re supposed to meet that woman tonight, aren’t you? I’ll be there too, but I’ll keep my distance. Once you’re done, meet me at the restaurant. We need to tell your mom about our marriage.”

Huey’s expression clouded, and he hesitated before responding. “Could we possibly deal with this in a few days? Thepetition’sing up, and I don’t want any distractions messing with my performance…”
