Chapter 410

    ?Chapter 410:

“Save your breath. I’m not going anywhere with you,” Milford said defiantly as he came down the stairs. The anger in his eyes had dimmed, but his tone remained firm. “I’m fine here. Eileen’s been good to me. She’s covering my tuition and expenses, and I’ll repay her someday. You have no part in this, so I don’t need you meddling in my life. Now, get out, and don’t evere back looking for me again.”

He pointed to the door with a decisive motion. “Are you leaving on your own, or should I drag you out?”

Z lingered a moment, then spat, “If you refuse, I’ll take legal action. I’ll sue Eileen for damaging our sibling rtionship.”

Eileen remained unshaken. “You won’t win. I’m not imprisoning him or abusing him. Milford’s here because he wants to be.”

“Even if I don’t win, I’ll appeal and sue you again and again. Do you really have the stamina for this? I doubt you can keep it up.” Z’s voice was filled with determination, ready for a prolonged battle. She believed Eileen wouldn’t want to waste time on someone who had nothing to do with her.

Snatching her purse from the couch, she stormed out, her parting words lingering like a bad smell.

As the door mmed shut, Milford copsed onto the couch, a deep frown etched on his face.

“I’m going to check on Gabri,” Eileen said softly, ncing back at him. “Don’t worry about Z. She won’t win, and nowyer will take her case after two failedwsuits.”

“Hmm,” Milford muttered, burying his face in his hands. He felt he’d caused Eileen enough trouble, most of it thanks to his sister.

Upstairs, Gabri had stopped crying. Her eyes were still red and puffy, showing the evidence of her distress. Bryan looked heartbroken seeing her in that state.

When Gabri saw Eileen, she pouted sadly, her little hands waving in the air as she made soft sounds.

“What did Z want this time?” Bryan asked, his face dark with disdain for Z.

Eileen kissed Gabri’s tiny fingers and sighed. “She wanted to take Milford away.”

Every encounter between the siblings ended in conflict, and the little girl must have been stressed witnessing their argument. Bryan gently caressed Gabri’s cheek, his usually stern face softening.

With her parents by her side, Gabri’s spirits lifted quickly. It wasn’t long before Ruby burst in with a bundle of new clothes, making Gabri giggle with excitement.

Milford entered his room but didn’te out again.

After lunch, a suddenmotion erupted at the Freguson Group. Eileen had to rush to thepany, unaware that Julio was also on his way.

When the emergency arose, the staff member first notified Julio and then Eileen. They both arrived at thepany almost simultaneously and met in the elevator.

“Where’ve you been?” Julio asked, holding the elevator door open for Eileen.

Eileen stepped inside. “I was at the hospital this morning. I wrapped up all my tasks yesterday, so I didn’t expect an emergency.”
