Chapter 355

    ?Chapter 355:

During daylight hours, his fondness for Gabri grew, yet he restrained himself. Josue’s smug demeanor irritated him. Additionally, he struggled to contain his feelings for Gabri, fearful that they might eventually eclipse his affection for his own child.

Each night, Gabri’s voice invaded his dreams, her words echoing in his ears.

In these dreams, a slightly older Gabri would cross her chubby arms and pout. “You don’t like me? Well, I won’t like you.”

Given Eileen’s chilly demeanor, his sanity was hanging by a thread.

What he didn’t know was that Eileen was also having a hard time.

After reading Josue’s provoking messages, she felt her anger rise, though she knew he was just exaggerating.

She avoided visiting Bryan during thest two days of the ten-day period.

When he questioned her absence, she curtly responded, “Busy.”

This gave Bryan a bitter taste of neglect, akin to a spouse overlooked by an indifferent partner. She had vanished for days!

He doubted her excuse. He yearned to see her after work, yet he worried about encountering Ruby and others, which would make his visit seem abrupt.

Then it struck him that Milford, who lived with Eileen, was soon to attend Willowbrook University.

Immediately, Bryan sent a message to Milford, hoping he would agree to act covertly on his behalf.

However, Milford was not easily swayed and replied to him with a voice message:

“Do you need to see Eileen? Why don’t you ask her directly?”

Milford, aware of Eileen’s recent fatigue, suspected it was connected to her reconciliation with Bryan.

“It’s been ages since we talked, and there’s a bit of bite to your words now, don’t you think?” Bryan’s voice in the message was ominously low. “Remember, you only met her because of me.”

Milford shot back, undeterred, “Don’t pretend I’m unaware. You manipted me to get close to her. I’ve helped you a lot.”

“Enough!” Bryan snapped, losing his temper. “Will you help, or not?”

Detecting the anger in Bryan’s tone and knowing Eileen’s mood had been off, Milford reluctantly agreed, provided it didn’t harm her.

“As long as she’s not hurt, I’ll think about it.”

That was practically an affirmation for Bryan.

Bryan cut straight to the chase. “Tell me when she’s alone at home.”
