    then turned to face him.


    “I can,” after a few minutes’ pause, he imed.


    I smiled and closed my eyes.


    He has no idea what he has gotten himself into. I fell asleep in his arms and woke up before him. I


    woke him up and asked him to leave before my mom came over and saw us together. Now that I was


    standing under the shower, I couldn’t help but feel sad.


    I was worried over what Maddox would say when I told him what I had to do in order to save him.


    Maybe he will understand and forgive me.
