Ares POV
We are currently up in the mountains and are looking for the ruins but we are having a hard time finding
them. The scents up here are all so confusing and we have been going in circles so many times.
“Ares, can we be trapped in a vortex? Ben suddenly asks and I stop and turn to look at him.
“Well, that would exin why we are going around in circles” I say as I think about his question.
“I will ask Sam” Ben says and I nod as I watch his eyes ze over.
I try to move again and this time something is calling for me to look up at the trees. There I see it. I
growl at it, it calls out and is mocking me. A witch mark.
“Ares, she said that it could be a vortex and there should be a mark of some sort around here” Ben
says and I nod and point up at the tree. Benes over and looks up as well and I see that he is
mindlinking again
“What did she say?” I ask as his eyes return to normal
“The ce here is mirrored so if we try to go north we are actually going south” Ben exins and I huff.
“Then let’s go to the south this time even if it feels confusing” I say with a slight growl.
I tell the other and we start walking down the mountain again but I
make sure that we are inside the markings so we are inside the vortex all the time but just as I am
about to give up. Andrei pushes through a couple of bushes and he growls loudly.
I walk up to him when his arm stops me and I look down at the ground, wolfsbane. Oh sh it. Mark and
his warriore up with us and they growl as well.
“Wait, wolfsbane can’t grow up in the mountains right?” Mark suddenly says and I think about it.
Wolfsbane are almost instinct and they like to grow near caves and far from trees like these. Can it be
an illusion but before I can try it out, Anton steps before me and just walks right out in the flowers.
“Anton, no “I growled at him but he just waved me off and continued walking.
We look at him as he hisses but not because of the flowers, he bends to take up something and in his
hands he is holding a puppy? I tilt my head and it looks like a wolf puppy, it struggles in his grip and I
can tell it bit him.
I shake my head before walking out in the flowers that was just an illusion and I growl as Ie closer
to Anton.
“Prince Ares, this isn’t an ordinary wolf. It is a werewolf” Anton says and I look at him with horror.
What if the witchthat created the vortex managed to make the children. shift in their current age? They
can be stuck in this form forever.
“Wait!” Mark says as hees running towards us and the puppy whelps and struggles toe over
to Mark.
“Mira” he says and takes her and holds her close.
“Mark, I willmand her to shift back but be prepared that she will scream and try to run away.” I say
and he looks at me but nods
I let out my aura and concentrated on the wolf andmanded her. “Shift”
She screams in agony but after a while she isying down on the grass panting hard but she is in her
human form again.
Mark grips her and takes her into his arms and hugs her hard.
“Little one, where are the others?” I ask as I crouch down beside her.
“In there” she whispers and points at absolutely nothing.
“Where?” Ben asks and tries to look as well but we can’t see anything.
Mira takes my hand and suddenly I can see the ruins of this ce.
“Only rogues and girls can see it” she says and I growl. St upid witches.
“Can you take us there?” I ask her and she whimpers, clearly she didn’t want to go back.

“You are not going back, I promise that Mark will take you home, but we cant see it until we are inside
of it” I say and she seems to think but
she nods.
“Okay, can you help the others as well?” she asks and I nod and smile
at her
“Yes of course that is why we are here” I assure her and she nods.
Mark puts Mira down and she walks slowly and seems to look around before she is telling us that it is a
step here and it looks kind of funny as she is standing in thin air. I know logically that she has stepped
up on a step but otherwise she is standing in the air by herself.
I take her hand and I see now what she means: it is a hole in the
middle of the step. I tell the others about the hole and they nod and watch exactly where I set my feet
down and when Mira finally has led us inside the entire ruins are visible to us.
To think that this ce was once a grand thing and now it’s in ruins. I shake my head at the thought
that time can be cruel.
I let Mira go back to Mark before I shift and the rest of my warriors do and we sneak inside the ruins.
Our senses are going on overdrive as we stalk through the ruins. But what surprises me the most is the
men that are sitting in the center of what would have been the grand hall.
I look around for the witch when I find her. Oh, Andrei will have fun this time around. Nora spared her
life but she did this instead? The siren witch will die today.
Andrei, do you remember the siren witch that made you think that she was your mate? Well she is
here. Can you kill her this time or should I?* I mindlink him and he is furious but he answers very
logically
*I can’t kill her. Her magic will still work on me but not on you since Nora has marked you know* he
says and I nod at him. This will be fun.
I walk right out in the room and the rogue lycans suddenly look at me and I let out my aura pushing
them onto the floor but the little witch just smiles as she sits on the damaged throne.
“Ares and Andrei, there you are, you cannot resist me,e here” she says and I hear Andrei move
behind me but I knock him back again before slowly walking towards the witch.
She smiles like a da mn cat as she thinks that I am spellbound by her but by the time I reach her I
stretch out my hands on either side of her
head and snap her neck clean.
Ding do ng the witch is dead.
