Chapter 1663

    ?Chapter 1663:

Felicia kept going. “Mason once tried to win me over, but I never cared for him. It was always his father I was drawn to.”

Dani didn’t bother with niceties. “Josh might hold the assets, but that’s not who you want. It’s his power that interests you.”

Felicia nodded, pletely unbothered. “Smart women are the bestpany.

    Dani, we should work together.”

Dani didn’t respond right away. She simply studied her.

Felicia added, “You helped Victoria through her divorce. Now that I’m Mrs. McCoy, I have my own stake at the table. I’m ready to take a risk. Would you consider partnering with me?”

Dani offered a faint smile. “You’re not Victoria. And if I’m remembering correctly, Josh had you sign a prenup, didn’t he? If you leave him ording to the book, you walk away with nothing.”

Felicia’s eyes gleamed with respect. “I knew you were the right person. You’re indeed smart.”

“Since you already knew about the prenuptial agreement I signed with Josh, why did you agree to meet with me?” Felicia asked, genuinely confused. “Is there something more you’re after from Josh, aside from his money?”

Dani gave Felicia a quick nce and grinned. “That’s right.”

Felicia arched an eyebrow. “So, that means we might be able to work together after all?”

Dani gave a small shake of her head. “No. There’s no possibility of that.”

Felicia’s confident smile slowly disappeared. “Why not?” She had thought she’d shown Dani she was clever enough, and that Dani would be interested in partnering with her.

Dani could see straight through Felicia’s hopes. The girl still wore her heart on her sleeve, far too young to hide her feelings.

    She did think Felicia had a certain cleverness.<fne767> ??? ????? ???????s ??? ?????s??? ?? find[?]ovel</fne767>

At least when it came to love, Felicia was more perceptive than Victoria. Dani kept her smile, but her words were direct and unfiltered. “Homewreckers never get away with what they do. You’re smart enough to figure out I’ve been working with Victoria. You thought you could offer me something, so you agreed to marry Josh with a prenuptial in ce. But you made one mistake.”

Felicia had no smile left. Her curiosity outweighed her pride. “What did I miscalcte?”

Dani sat back and answered without hesitation, “I’ll never side with someone who destroys families. Men who betray their wives deserve every bit of scorn. Women who break up marriages aren’t innocent, either. Anyone who tries to climb the socialdder through schemes like that will never find true happiness. Any woman who tore a family apart deserves to face the consequences.”

With a long face, Felicia murmured, “I don’t get it.”

A soft smile touched Dani’s lips. “A smart person understands her own boundaries. Young women like you, with nothing but youth and looks, always believe the world owes them something. I’ve seen plenty just like you before. I’ll take care of the bill for this coffee. Sooner orter, you’ll realize that your cleverness isn’t enough to navigate theplicated games you’re trying to y.”

Without another word, Dani rose from her seat and walked away.
