?Chapter 1614:
Josh leaned back, his voice t. “When I said we could negotiate, I meant you can talk about handing me even more of McCoy Group’s businesses. I’ll dly take them.”
Their smiles vanished. Blood drained from their faces all at once.
That same day, Josh gathered his things, walked out of McCoy Group, and moved straight into his new office.
The brothers scrambled to the finance team, desperate to see what was left.
Josh hadn’t spared them—more than half thepany’s wealth was gone with him. The once-mighty McCoy Group now sat gutted, trembling at the edge of ruin.
One ountant pushed up his sses, his voice low but urgent.
“If word leaks and the few small clients left follow Josh to his new firm, McCoy Group is finished. We’d better choose a new CEO before that happens.”
Josh couldn’t shake off the sting of regret. He had always meant to snatch up more of McCoy Group’s businesses than he did.
The leftovers weren’t much—just a handful of small ventures, nothingpared to the big ones—but even those scraps were tempting to outsiders. Seething, Josh shot a re at his secretary.
“Exin. Why did they show up without warning? Even Hamilton had the nerve to appear!”
If Hamilton hadn’te, Josh could have sweet-talked the other clueless McCoy family members in minutes.
But with Hamilton there, the lies wouldn’t hold. That old fox knew thepany inside out.
The secretary, eyes lowered, spoke carefully. “Sir, Hamilton came straight from Dani’s ce.”

Josh’s eyes went cold in an instant.
The secretary added, “Dani’s sharp. She’s been watching McCoy Group closely and probably tipped Hamilton off.”
Josh mmed his hand on the desk. “Damn that woman! She ruined everything! I nned to strip McCoy Group to the bones. Now I’ve got just half. Damn her!”
Rage burned through him as he snapped at his secretary. “Tell the gardeners to nt more jasmines outside Dani’s vi. I want her gone today. I’m sick of her meddling.”
Dani had always been the thorn he couldn’t pull out. If she kept breathing, his grand ns would keep falling apart.
The secretary flinched but spoke up. “Mr. McCoy, there’s already a dangerous amount nted around Dani’s house. If we add more, she might notice.”
Josh let out a nastyugh. “Notice what? I said I want her out of the way today. Let’s see how smug Hamilton looks when she’s gone. They think I have no heir. Fine. I’ll make sure the McCoy family can’t have any children in the future.”
He barked the final order. “Go. Now!”
Reluctantly, the secretary obeyed. “Understood.”
Meanwhile, Dani was still in her car when her phone rang. Carol’s voice came through in a rush.
