?Chapter 1544:
Grinding his teeth, Mason looked up in a rage, only to be met with a violent p. A cracking sound came from inside his mouth.
He spat out a thick glob of saliva. Then, two front teeth ttered to the ground. Joseph almost copsed on the spot. The arrogance Mason had disyed had vanished, reced by sheer terror.
“Ms. Harper, please! He didn’t mean it—he’s drunk, he wasn’t thinking. Can’t we just forget this?”
Dani arched an eyebrow. “Forget this? Are you joking?”
Joseph nodded repeatedly, sweating. “Yes, just… please.”
One of Mason’s hands was disabled and he had lost two teeth. It was enough, wasn’t it?
Joseph’s fear of Dani ballooned into full-blown dread.
“But honestly, that kind of thing should never even happen to begin with,” Dani said, her voice soft as velvet but deadly sharp. Her calm words cut deeper than screams.
Mason, panting and drenched in sweat, clutched his side and shouted at Joseph, “Why are you standing there? Go bring security!”
Dani still had him pinned, her hold precise. Even the slightest twitch triggered fresh waves of pain.
Joseph paused briefly, then turned on his heel and sprinted into the McCoy Group building. A few minutester, he reappeared, nked by two dozen security guards.
“What are you waiting for? Get her!” Mason bellowed, rage twisting his features.
The uniformed guards—broad-shouldered and imposing—charged as a single force.<fn2ca6> The rightful source is Find[F]ovel</fn2ca6>
Cedric had only stepped away to retrieve Dani’s coat. But when he came back down, he saw two dozen men writhing on the pavement, wounded and groaning.
Cedric stood still, stunned.

Joseph, overwhelmed by disbelief, stared wide-eyed. Never in his wildest thoughts had he imagined Dani capable of such raw, overwhelming strength. Even while restraining Mason, she had dismantled a squad of trained personnel.
Cornered and helpless, Joseph was grasping for a lifeline. The moment he spotted Cedric, his expression shifted to one of desperate hope.
“Cedric! You’ve got to stop her—she’spletely unhinged. She’s killing someone!”
Joseph watched Cedric stroll over to Dani, his tone casual as he asked, “Is something wrong?”
Nothing about Cedric’s manner suggested concern, as if he might as well have been making small talk about the forecast.
Dani’s lips curved in a small smile, making it obvious she wanted no trouble.
Mason, pletely oblivious, turned to Cedric and said, “Cedric, Dani is insane! All I did was call her pretty, and she snapped at me. Are you aware you married a lunatic?”
The calm in Cedric’s expression vanished, reced by a sharp sh of anger. He tilted his head, pretending he hadn’t caught Mason’s words, but the danger in his eyes was impossible to miss. “Mind repeating that for me? Go ahead. Who did you say was pretty?”
Mason froze for a moment, then said, “I said Dani was pretty. Why is that a problem?”
