?Chapter 1243:
The group chat had only the three of them.
Lillian quickly replied, “Such a waste of your good looks!”
Ryan chimed in, “Exactly. She can’t resist your charm. Just stay close, be a little clingy, and she won’t push you away. You know she’s more responsive to warmth than force.”
Lillian added, “Exactly. Be as persistent as Alexander. With that handsome face of yours, she’ll be won over.”
Cedric ran a hand through his hair, mock exasperated. “You better hurry back, or if I get dumped, I’m ming both of you.”
Lillianughed. “She won’t let use back.”
Ryan added, “Otherwise, we’d already be there.”
Cedric sighed in defeat.
The following day, Dani descended the stairs and spotted Charles sitting in the living room, clearly having been there for a while.
Charles rose, smiling the same way Kohen had the night before. “Good morning, Dani.”
Dani greeted him casually, but the housekeeper added, “He’s been here for over three hours and has had more than ten cups of coffee.”
Dani dismissed her. “It’s fine. You can continue with your duties.”
After breakfast, Dani stepped outside, and Charles stood up, having ced some health supplements on the table. “I know you’re notcking anything, so I brought something rare and hard to find.”
Of the three, Charles was the most shrewd. Smiling at Dani, he added, “You know why I’m here today, so I won’t waste time. I understand the McCoy family owes both you and Cedric a debt that must be repaid.”
Dani raised an eyebrow. Charles was sharp, fully aware of her ns, and heid it out without hesitation.
???????? ???????? ???????????????????? ? ??????????ν??????﹒??????
Charles studied Dani’s face, noticing a brief sh of admiration. He grinned smugly. “Dani, I know what you’re investigating. It’s not just the explosion, but the truth behind your mother’s death. If you back me, I can help you uncover it. Furthermore, whatever is rightfully Cedric’s—whether he chooses to return to the family or not—I will make sure he gets it as long as I’m in control. Also, while the McCoy family may seem peaceful, it’s full of danger. Cedric doesn’t care for the family fortune, and you wouldn’t want him caught up in this mess. If you choose me, I won’t let you down.”
Dani observed Charles, realizing just how shrewd he was. She hadn’t shown any bias toward Cedric, yet Charles had brought him up.
Charles chuckled. “Dani, you’re too smart to settle for working with fools. Controlling a pawn is dull—partnering with someone as sharp as me is where the real fun lies.”
Dani took a sip of water, offering no clear response. “I hear you. You may leave now.”
Charles smiled as he walked out, adding, “I’ll be waiting for the good news.” He was full of confidence, seemingly certain Dani would pick him.
After he left, Carol came downstairs. “Charles is too clever. People like him are hard to control.”
Dani responded, “It’s more rewarding to deal with intelligent people. I can’t achieve anything with fools.”
