?Chapter 1193:
Just as Cedric finished disciplining Niks and started back, Alexander rose to his feet. He offered Cedric a friendly smile. “Surely, you’re not that insecure, are you? I’m simply fulfilling my duties. And should I ever decide to court Dani, I assure you, it would only be on my own time. How about we keep it a fair contest?”
Cedric’s fists tightened; his anger was evident. Just as he was about to respond, a derisive snort interrupted him.
Alexander’s attention shifted to the source of the sound.
Standing up with her dog in her arms, Dani fixed Alexander with a scornful look. “Are you attempting to manipte someone with your reverse psychology?”
Alexander had anticipated many possible reactions from Cedric but did not foresee Dani, even with her memory issues, defending Cedric so vehemently.
Frustration gnawed at him, yet he understood that showing anger would only alienate Dani further.
He opted for a calm approach and exined to Dani, “I apologize if it came across wrongly. I was merely speaking about my professional role. Since we are both part of the Olisvine businessmunity, we’ll inevitably meet again. Surely we shouldn’t avoid each other indefinitely, right?”
Alexander then offered Cedric a conciliatory smile.
He had thought to challenge Cedric’s pride by saying, “A true gentleman wouldn’t be so trivial, right?”
But after thinking it over, he restrained himself and said with a smile, “You understand my point, don’t you?”
Meanwhile, Niks, nursing his bruised face, approached Dani. “Give me half a month. If you still find the arrangement uneptable, I’ll dismiss him, okay?”
Cedric, weary of the drama, was about to reply when Dani interjected coldly, “Tasha, prepare Niks’ belongings for his immediate departure.”
Tasha responded promptly, “Alright.”

Both Niks and Alexander stood there, taken aback.
Niks immediately turned to Dani and said, “Didn’t you make me a promise that you’d let my secretarye and take care of me?”
Dani’s eyes turned cold. “I also warned you not to upset Cedric.”
Niks turned around, casting a nce at Cedric. “What exactly upset him? Dani, you’re spoiling him too much.”
Wasn’t Dani supposed to have amnesia? Why did she still care about Cedric so much?
“Dani, you can’t just kick me out!” Niks was clearly flustered now. Living here was convenient, and leaving would throw all his ns into chaos. Besides, the vi was luxurious, and he loved it here.
Dani didn’t give a damn about Niks’ protests.
Niks nced at Cedric and realized he couldn’t rely on this hopeless romantic. He chased after Dani, trying to negotiate with her. “Come on, as Cedric’s brother, I think I deserve a little respect and consideration from you.”
“If he acknowledges you as a brother, then maybe. If he doesn’t, then you’re just some stranger.”
Niks protested, “He never said I wasn’t his brother!”
Dani gradually came to a stop, turning her head with a chilling gaze fixed on Niks, her eyes glinting with a clear, dangerous edge. “What did you just say? Did you tell him he’s from the McCoy family?”
