?Chapter 1188:
Alexander studied Niks’ profile, his gaze icy. “Why?”
Lately, Dani and Cedric had shaken Niks, and now, he was eager to reim some sense of dominance, even if it meant cooperating with Alexander.
“Whether I choose to cooperate with you is up to me,” Niks dered, crossing his legs with arrogant ease. “It’s not about whether you are willing. Got it?”
Alexander closed his eyes, barely able to tolerate Niks’ arrogance. But the prospect of drawing closer to Dani made him swallow his pride. “What exactly do you have in mind?”
Niks casually dusted off his pants, his voice nonchnt. “Starting today, you’ll be my secretary.”
Alexander narrowed his eyes. “I’m the president of thergestmerce association in the country. Be your secretary? Don’t you think you’re inting your importance a bit too much?”
For him—the president of the National Commerce Association—to be Niks’ckey, what would others think? It would also undermine his dignity as president.
Was Niks overestimating his worth? Sure, he might be the heir to the McCoy family, but he wasn’t there yet.
Niks saw right through Alexander’s thoughts and sneered. “The ess cards to Elite Lux and Phillips Group—they’ve expired, haven’t they?”
Alexander’s face tightened at the reminder. He had only used them once, and the second time he tried, they didn’t work, and he had been thrown out.
From that point on, he could only watch from afar as Dani remained out of reach.
“If you take the position, you can apany me and enter Elite Lux and Phillips Group without any trouble,” Niks added.
Niks observed the inner conflict ying out on Alexander’s face and couldn’t help but release a mockingugh, ced with biting sarcasm.

“What’s the matter? Can’t bear the idea of losing face? Alexander, didn’t you say you’d risk everything for Dani? Was that just empty words? In this, you’re no match for Cedric. When ites to Dani, Cedric is far more devoted. And honestly, are you really so blind? The association and your reputation pale inparison to Dani. She spent three years in aa, yet Elite Lux still stood tall. Having Dani by your side is like owning the world’s wealth. And you’re worried about this pitiful, broken association? Only a fool would waste time on such insignificant things. If I were you, I’d act now—while Dani’s only just awoken and hasn’t yet developed deep feelings for Cedric. I’d seize the moment instead of fixating on the fleeting value of your so-called pride.”
Niks rose to his feet. “I’ve said all I needed to. I don’t have the energy for more. You have one day to think it over.” He turned on his heel, ready to leave.
“Will you help me?” Alexander called out, desperation in his voice.
Niks rolled his eyes, disgusted. Alexander wasn’t even close to being a real man. Chasing after a woman and still needing someone else to fight his battles? At the core, it was ack of resolve. He simply didn’t have the guts to take the plunge.
Alexander’s feelings for Dani weren’t genuine, and that was always the thing that held him back. That was why he endlessly sought validation from others.
Niks couldn’t bring himself to entertain such a foolish question. He walked out, dismissing Alexander’s desperate cry. “Does Dani really feel nothing for Cedric yet?”
