Chapter 1104

    ?Chapter 1104:

Caiden, ever the actor, sighed. “I had no idea Dani couldn’t have children.” The smirk threatening to break across his lips nearly betrayed his crocodile tears. “Dani, my dear daughter, you know I love you. It truly shatters my heart to hear such devastating news.”

Joyce chimed in, “Dani, my dearest sister, I know you’re still upset about Alexander, bute on, we’re family. Holding grudges forever isn’t good for anyone. Juste home—to the warm embrace of your loving family. So what if you can’t have children? It’s fine! I already had one, remember? My child is yours too. No need to worry, the Harper bloodline will live on!”

Carol clenched her jaw. “Dani, Joyce’s face practically screams, ‘Come to me, money!’ The Harper family? That woman doesn’t even carry the Harper name!”

Dani’s gaze turned as sharp as ice, her expression unreadable.

Carol exhaled sharply. “Joyce gave her illegitimate child the Harper surname. And now, she’s keeping him out of school, waiting for his oh-so-wealthy aunt to pay for his elite education.”

On screen, a small boy stretched out his arms, tears streaming down his face.

“Aunt Dani, I’m Jack! Pleasee home! I miss you!”

That little, unwanted souvenir from a bar fling.

For someone so young, Jack had already inherited his mother’s cunning nature, a short temper, and a mean streak that red up whenever things didn’t go his way.

Carol’s face darkened. “Dani, the rumors are out of control. People are convinced you’re barren, and now they think Jack will inherit everything. They’re even sending him gifts.”

    ???????? ?????????????? ???????? ??????????ν??????﹒??????

Carol studied Dani’s eerily calm face. “Dani, you can’t let them spread this garbage. No doctor ever confirmed you can’t have kids.”

Dani let out a cold chuckle. “If they’re already fighting over my wealth, I might as well face those vultures myself. Are they living in my vi?”

Carol gave a sharp nod. “Yeah. After the old warehouse blew up and you were sent abroad, Caiden and Joyce wasted no time moving in. And of course, Caiden never misses a chance to say the vi is his.”

The following day, Dani had an important meeting lined up.

Her n was to head to her previous vi once work wrapped up.

But before the meeting could properly start, her secretary stepped in, looking uneasy. “Ms. Harper, there’s a child downstairs insisting he’s here to see his aunt.”

Dani frowned in confusion. “I don’t have a nephew.”

The secretary hesitated, biting her lip. “He says his name is Jack Harper.”

Dani’s expression hardened. She hadn’t even made a move towards them yet, and already they were pushing their way into her world.

The secretary continued, “For some reason, the child just dropped to his knees at the entrance. He wouldn’t step inside when invited, wouldn’t budge when told to leave—just stayed there sobbing, chanting your name. The press caught wind of it, and now they’re swarming the ce, cameras shing non-stop. A crowd has gathered, saying the boy was innocent and branding you as coldhearted. They’re whispering that since you can’t have children, this boy is meant to be your future caretaker. They’re questioning how you can be so harsh just because you have some money.”
