823 Presentation
Inside one of the meeting rooms in a building belonging to the Ministry of the Exterior, a presentation was underway, with a few individuals attentively listening to the speaker.
"Taking into ount all the reasons stated above, I propose the creation of a space station to serve as a trade hub due to the restricted and limited ess to Earth for outsiders," the presenter concluded before pausing, allowing the attendees to ask questions as she finished her presentation.
“Why not use any of the moons in the sr system or one of the currently unupieds?” asked an attendee who had been diligently taking notes throughout the meeting.
The presenter nodded, prepared for the question. “Aside from Earth, which is now closed to outsiders under imperial order, the others are either allocated for military use or are too close to the sun, making it prohibitively expensive to terraform and shield them from radiation.
As for the moons, the majority are already being utilized as research bases, monitored for ongoing experiments, or are located too close to their parents. This proximity ces them within strong maic fields, which could disrupt ship electronics for vessels attempting to dock. Moreover, many of the moons are simply too small to amodate the continuous expansion a trade hub will require in the future.
By constructing a dedicated space station, we gain the flexibility to design it from the ground up, specifically tailored to meet current needs while also ounting for significant future growth in trade between civilizations.”
Her confident and detailed response made it clear she had anticipated the question and was well-prepared.
“Why not use a small asteroid for now, simr to how they created the Colosseum for the fights, and evaluate the pace of expansion from there? This way, if the demand grows significantly, we couldter design a station tailored for expansion. Besides, won’t most trades be conducted online or in the universal simtion anyway?” someone asked, following up on the previous exnation.
The presenter nodded, acknowledging the point. “While it’s true that most trades will ur online or through the universal simtion, the goods still need to be delivered in the real world. These trade hubs will serve as central points for both face-to-face transactions and logistics. Purchased items from other civilizations will be delivered to these stations before being transferred to imperialpanies for distribution to Earth and other destinations.
“Additionally, these hubs will serve as physical meeting points for individuals from various civilizations and species, promoting cultural exchange and coboration. They could also function as major tourist attractions, further enhancing the empire''s economy and influence. While using a small asteroid might seem like a viable short-term solution, the uncertainty in the speed of projected growth poses significant risks. We could find ourselves out of capacity almost immediately after opening it. By designing the hub with future growth in mind from the outset, we can ensure it is scble, allowing for faster and more efficient expansion when the need arises, rather than scrambling to start a new constructionter.”
The back-and-forth continued for quite some time, as individuals seeking rification, opposing the idea, or proposing alternatives raised their points and questions. The presenter addressed each one with poise, demonstrating that she had thoroughly prepared for nearly all the expected inquiries.
“Alright,” the person seated at the head of the table finally spoke, “I believe most, if not all, of your questions have been answered. Since there doesn’t seem to be any major deal-breaker in the proposal, I hereby approve its submission to the joint nning office for further consideration. This concludes today’s idea presentations. Thank you all for your participation.”
The room erupted into apuse, congratting the presenter on her well-executed presentation and herposed responses to the questions posed.
Simr scenes were ying out in various departments within both the Ministry of the Exterior and the Ministry of the Interior. These efforts were part of the numerous joint nning sessions underway in preparation for the uing first official trade between the empire and the Astral Conve. The heads of the two ministries had even introduced apetitive element, encouraging innovative ideas for this crucial project.
The initiative also included selecting individuals to join a newly formed joint task force, which would serve as a liaison between the empire, the Astral Conve, and any future foreign partners in matters of trade and business. This task force was currently one of the most coveted assignments within the imperial government, as its importance and scope were expected to expand continuously in the foreseeable future.
As everyone rose from their seats, gathering their belongings and filing out of the meeting room, the team leader meeting gestured for the female presenter to stay behind. He clearly had something to discuss with her.
"Good job. The presentation was of high quality, well-prepared, and thorough. It’s evident you did your research in-depth," he said, patting her shoulder with a proud expression. n/?/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Thank you, sir. I put in my best effort to increase the chances of my proposal being approved," she replied, a small but genuine smile appearing on her face. She was clearly pleased to receive recognition from a senior figure she respected.
"Which position are you aiming for if you''re epted into the joint task force?" he asked, curious about her ambitions.
"The Future Strategic nning Department, sir," she answered with conviction, her tone serious and determined. It was clear that she had set her sights on this department, knowing it was poised to be the most powerful and influential division within the joint task force.
Moments after the room was empty, the lights automatically dimmed. The AI monitoring the meeting, having recorded everything that transpired, beganpiling an exceptionally detailed report. This included a summary of the discussions, participant interactions, and individual performance assessments. The report, along with the full video footage, was then sent to the relevant AIs for archiving. These records would be preserved for future use, whether for evaluating the individuals present or for referencing the meeting''s oues.
"Thank you, sir," she replied sincerely, visibly grateful. She then followed the team leader as they both exited the meeting room.
"Good," the team leader said, his tone carrying a hint of pride. "I''ll write you a rmendationter to apany your presentation. It should at least increase your chances of being epted."
