Chapter 1786

    ?Chapter 1786:

“Go ahead, bute out if you get tired,” Sk said, understanding her daughter’s determination. She patted Harlee gently on the head, offering quiet support.

“Okay.” Harlee nodded, put on a sterile gown, and followed the doctor into the intensive care unit.

Seeing Rhys surrounded by medical equipment and paler than ever made Harlee’s heart sink. He looked even worse than he had a few days ago. She sat down, gripping her gown tightly, closed her eyes, and silently prayed for his recovery, for the strength to endure all of this.

Momentster, she gently took Rhys’ hand and pressed her cheek against it.

    “So cold.”

His hand was icy, the chilling touch a brutal reminder of how fragile life could be.

A tear slid down Harlee’s cheek as she clutched Rhys’ hand, trying to transfer her warmth to him.

“Rhys, you promised to protect me and Fel. You can’t break that promise. You have to hold on. Felix needs his father to watch him grow up, and I can’t face the future without you. You must pull through this.”

The doctor, monitoring the screens closely, noticed a faint reaction.

“Ms. Sanderson, he seems to be responding to your voice. Keep talking to him.”

A flicker of hope lit in Harlee’s eyes. She gripped his hand tighter and began to speak without stopping. She talked about their future, recalled old memories, and shared the thoughts and emotions she had buried during the three years he was gone—things she had never dared say aloud. Everything spilled out at once.

As she spoke, exhaustion began to weigh her down. The strain of the past month, filled with worry and sleepless nights, was finally catching up to her. Through her fatigue, she barely heard the doctor mention that while Rhys’ vitals were weak, his will to survive was strong. Still, it remained uncertain whether he would recover.

“Rhys, there will be a miracle… right?” Harlee whispered, her voice a fragile blend of hope and prayer.

Three dayster, Rhys was transferred from the intensive care unit to a regr hospital room, although it remained uncertain when he might regain consciousness. The fact that he had survived this far was already a miracle.

Lonnie also showed signs of improvement and was sent home to continue his recovery. Only Felix continued to struggle. The virus still ravaged his small body, causing him to cry inconsbly whenever he woke.

“Harlee, why don’t you bring Felix to see Rhys? Maybe his crying will stimte Rhys’ brain and help wake him up,” Sk suggested.

Harlee gently shook her head. “Felix is still very weak. I’m hesitant to bring him to the hospital…” Her anxiety had intensified recently, making her overly cautious with every decision, no matter how small.

Just then, Serena walked in. After hearing Sk’s suggestion, she paused to consider it before turning to Harlee.

“I think your mother’s idea has merit. Maybe Felix can stir Mr. Green. The sess of his surgery was already a miracle.”

“Really?” Harlee’s hesitation remained, her main concern being the risk of Felix catching an infection at the hospital.

Serena took her hand gently. “Harlee, if you’re worried, I’ll stay with Felix the entire time.”
