?Chapter 1699:
Elva tugged at Harlee’s sleeve and whispered, “Harlee, did the presidente here just to warn us about Errol?”
“Seems like it,” Harlee responded nonchntly.
Elva swallowed hard. Harlee wasn’t affiliated with Uwhor University. The only usible reason for Errol’s lecture here must be to target her…
Elva clung tighter to Harlee’s sleeve.
“Harlee, don’t worry. I’ll stand by you no matter what. I’m ready to face whateveres.”
Errol definitely wanted to deal with her to get to Harlee and avenge N, a tactic straight out of a Mogluylia drama.
Harlee was amused by Elva’s fierce loyalty. She smiled gently, reaching out to pat Elva’s head reassuringly.
“No need to go that far. Just make sure you’re safe above all else.”
Elva touched her nose, slightly puzzled by theforting gesture.
“Huh? Oh, okay.”
She nodded, slightly bewildered. In her mind, Harlee’s advice was paramount, den with wisdom. Harlee’s emphasis on her safety must hold significant meaning.
They sat in reflective silence until the head of the Biology Department broke it by introducing the next part of the program. Then, Errol stepped onto the stage. When the name “Errol Happer” was announced, the students of the Biology Department were left stunned. While the Happer family held considerable prestige in Uwhor and Errol was a revered figure among the students, many wondered if a lecture from a businessman was really the best use of their academic time. Calling it a fan meeting might have been more urate.
Despite their reservations, the Biology students pped enthusiastically as Errol prepared to take the stage—motivated, perhaps, by the hope that a pleased Errol might end up financially supporting them.

In contrast, Harlee and Elva refrained from apuding. Harlee waspletely indifferent, while Elva defiantly refused.
The department head, unaware of Harlee’s identity, was visibly displeased by theirck of participation. If not for a stern look from the president, he might have even considered ejecting them from the auditorium.
As the apuse died down, Harlee stood and began pping sarcastically, her voice dripping with disdain.
“Well, well, it seems a businessman who donates a building now qualifies to lecture Biology students. Uwhor University is indeed a hospitable ce.”
The president’s face tensed with embarrassment. He couldn’t afford to offend either Harlee or Errol.
Seeing the department head’s stern expression, the president chose to ignore it. If someone was determined to y the fool, he wasn’t going to intervene.
When Harlee spoke, the students in the auditorium burst into mockingughter and looked at her, their faces mixed with curiosity and disbelief, as if they were observing an oddity. Did Harlee really think she could flout local decorum just because she had taken on N? Did she not realize the formidable influence of the Happer family and Errol in Uwhor? Harlee’s audacity to publicly criticize Errol promised an unfolding spectacle.
Harlee walked toward the stage with a rxed, confident air, as if she indeed belonged there.
Elva, usually more reserved, felt the weight of hostile and mocking gazes. Her expression darkened, and with a fierce look at those around her, she stood and followed Harlee confidently toward the stage. Although she knew she might not be of much help, she couldn’t let Harlee face the crowd alone.
Elva’s reputation at Uwhor University was already poor, particrly within the Biology Department, where she was often singled out. Her decision to stand up didn’t deter the hostile res but rather seemed to intensify them.
The students seemed almost eager for the department head to publicly announce her expulsion.
