Chapter 1433: Ending 1: The Fire of No Regrets_5
“Drip, drip, drip—”
Nnd Lee’s game interface updated with a message.
At the same time, two different colors of characters appeared on the interface.
The white characters originated from the “Command,” while the purple characters represented the Assassin Angel.
Next to the text sent by the former was a “waiting to download” button and a progress bar.
The gist of the text said that Nnd Lee could start transferring the yers’ control rights simply by using his mind to press the “waiting to download” button.
...
Following the prompt, Nnd lightly tapped the button, and the progress bar beside it began to move, while his mind quickly filled with soul-rted information about Cucumber Slice and others.
Having gone through this step in his previous experience, Nnd didn’t find it novel this time.
As he waited for the progress bar toplete, he turned his attention to the message sent by the Assassin Angel.
This Angel said that They had asked Senati to briefly predict whether Nnd’s actions this round would be sessful.
Senati’s response was mixed, suggesting that sess was possible so long as Nnd could withstand the risks.
The main risks were centered on the “Mental Level.”
In the future scene that Senati saw, Nnd would suffer serious damage, or even death, due to his mind being clouded.
This reminded Nnd of the previous experience where Winter Melon and Kelp inexplicably became ‘Hysteric Brains.’
“Command” waspletely unaware of the two small yers’ transformations, which indicated the profound mental power hidden behind the Metal Ancestor Dragon.
“Ding.”
The progress bar finished loading.
Nnd closed his eyes, carefully sensing the souls of Cucumber Slice and the rest.
Yes, it was that feeling.
In his previous experience, when he had obtained the soul control rights of Cucumber Slice, Winter Melon, and Kelp, he also felt this ability to manipte their souls at will, like he was holding a balloon that could easily be burst in his hand.
“Everything’s ready. Now just waiting for the Metal Ancestor Dragon to take the bait. This damn creature better not stand me up,” Nnd muttered to himself and patiently waited.
Soon, the Allied Fleet of the Alliance charged forward at full speed, arriving via warp at the Secondary Stargate and beginning their attack on the Academy yers’ front-line base.
Cucumber Slice and several other yers who had decided to return to the United Bureau took advantage of the tumult during their own fleet’s engagement with the gate’s defenses, sowing chaos in their own lines.
Their disruptions ranged from deliberately crashing their ships into adjacent ones to identally locking their ownrades with the fire-control radar—these little yers did whatever they could.
It didn’t take long for the battle supervisors within the Allied Fleet to notice the yers’ abnormal actions and immediately intervene.
Just then, purple characters appeared on Nnd’s game interface:
“Be aware, the Metal Ancestor Dragon’s true body is making a move. I have received a message from a clone in the Inner Cosmos sent 5 minutes ago. The Metal Ancestor Dragon’s true body activated a ritual array inside the Magic ship 5 minutes ago and is now affecting the Outer Space.”
Here ites… Nnd immediately focused his attention, monitoring 433 Allied yers, including Cucumber Slice.
The original number of yers from the Alliance was 506.
In the past few minutes of battle, 73 had died for various reasons.
Any one of these remaining 433 yers could potentially be the Metal Ancestor Dragon’s prey.
So why was the Metal Ancestor Dragon set on preying upon these yers?
Why didn’t it target those yers from the Academy who were attacking Angel’s Voice Space Station?
This was a crucial question.
Nnd and “Command” didn’t have a definite answer, but they had several usible guesses.
The primary reason was that these yers had higher levels and attributespared to those from the Academy, and they were all concentrated in a small area.
This met the Metal Ancestor Dragon’s criteria for choosing Soul Constructs and made it convenient for mass predation.
These two reasonsbined led Nnd and “Command” to believe the Metal Ancestor Dragon had no reason to pass up these yers.
The unfolding events confirmed Nnd and “Command’s” spection.
Almost the very second after the Assassin Angel’s message arrived, Nnd felt unrest in the souls of some yers.
Nnd immediately shifted his focus and caught sight of the scene he had anticipated:
The yers looked terrified as they watched the ship’s control console in front of them transform into a huge metal maw, biting down on them in one gulp.
The instant the metal maw snapped shut, Nnd felt his connection to the yers’ souls grow faint.
He could sense the yers’ souls swiftly moving away from him, but he couldn’t discern their direction.
Meanwhile, an extremely subtle and sneaky fluctuation spread through the soul connection between Nnd and the yers, worming its way into Nnd’s own soul.
A flurry of messages suddenly filled Nnd’s mind.
[Warning!]
[You have been attacked by “Hysteric Brain.”]
[The opponent has cast “sense tampering” on you!]
[Your life energy is below par, and your “willpower” is insufficient to be immune to “sense tampering”!]
[The “sense tampering” has taken effect!]
[Passive Deconstruction triggered!]
[You have received Deconstruction Results rted to the attacker!]
[The “sense tampering” has failed!]
Once the flood of messages in his mind ceased, Nnd suddenly felt the connection with the yers’ souls be as clear as before, without the slightest blur.
A light kindled in Nnd’s eyes:
“Passive Deconstruction can help with breaking the control as well??? This is just awesome~”
He smacked his forehead, ing to a realization.
It wasn’t Passive Deconstruction that had broken the control; instead, “sense tampering,” an ability at the Mental Level, just happened to be countered by Passive Deconstruction, which was why he could so quickly shake off the attacker’s influence.
