Chapter 1333: 434.GM online_3
Cucumber Slice let out a low exmation at this unexpected transition animation.
Nnd Lee dissolved the floating blue sphere, leaving only the red one, which he then pushed in front of Cucumber Slice.
“Come on, eat it.”
With a snap of Nnd’s fingers, the red sphere turned into arge, appetizing apple.
“Eating this has some use?” Cucumber Slice asked skeptically, grasping therge apple and biting into it.
Nnd exined offhandedly.
...
“This thing is a small program designed to clear viruses. By eating it, you’re essentially loading an antivirus program onto your game character.”
Cucumber Slice bit into the apple several times, finishing it off.
He was about to say something when he noticed that ck smoke had started emanating from his body.
After a short while, as the ck smoke stopped, striped lines of light began to sh around his field of vision.
Under his gaze, the game interface buttons that had disappeared reappeared.
With a thought, Cucumber Slice poked at the semi-transparent Gear icon in the bottom-right corner and sighed with relief when the interface menu popped up.
“Phew~~ Comforting, the game interface is finally back to normal.”
Cucumber Slice let out a long breath and then, as if suddenly realizing something, pped his palm and said.
“Oh, I get it now. You mentioned the antivirus program just now. So, this malignant BUG is caused by a virus, right?”
“Yes, that’s right.” Nnd said.
“Somebody is spreading a virus both inside and outside the game that triggers these malignant BUGs. The engineers outside the game are in charge of tracking the virus’s source there. But inside the game, GMs like me are the main force tracking down the source of the virus.”
At this point, Cucumber Slice was somewhat enlightened but still puzzled.
“Then why did I log on all of a sudden? Didn’t I take off the helmet?”
Nnd shook his head slightly.
“No, you didn’t take it off. If you don’t believe it, try logging off now.”
Cucumber Slice raised his hand to touch his head and indeed felt the metal shell of the game helmet.
His game character’s eyes looked unfocused, clearly indicating that he had logged off.
In less than half a minute, the game character’s eyes came back to life.
With an incredulous tone, Cucumber Slice said.
“I can’t believe I was wearing the game helmet during the meeting. How embarrassing. Why didn’t they remind me?”
No, no, no, you actually did take off the helmet before the meeting.
Nnd chuckled inwardly.
After establishing the soul contract, he had immediately used soul magic to connect to the yers’ “Reality” world through Cucumber Slice’s soul in “reality.” Then he altered the memories of everybody in the Cucumber Slice Team.
In the original memory, Cucumber Slice had started the meeting only after taking off his helmet.
But in the memory altered by Nnd, Cucumber Slice was in the meeting wearing the game helmet.
Nnd did this so as not to let Cucumber Slice know too much, which was also the Order ne’s Core’s requirement.
Because if the yers knew they were just a group of souls being raised within the core of the ne, a massive rebellion would be utterly unavoidable.
Certainly, the Order ne’s Core wanted Nnd to use his passive structure abilities to help clear away the contamination from the Dark Divine Cult.
But at the same time, it demanded that Nnd keep the yers from knowing too much to avoid other issues.
Now, the key to stabilizing Cucumber Slice lied in how Nnd could exin the random online log-on as the negative impact of a virus.
If the forting exnation could be epted and approved by Cucumber Slice, then Nnd could use the same approach with other virus-infected yers in the future.
Of course, this assumed that the virus-infected yers were worth the effort for Nnd.
If they were of bad character, Nnd would still handle them through reporting.
