Chapter 1299: 421. Large but improper
“Beep—”
“Beep—”
“Beep—”
Whether the iing enemy intended to board or not, themander of the transport fleet had triggered the rms on all the ships.
After three rms, an adult male’s voice came from the broadcast:
“Suspicious mobile forces detected near the directed route, all units prepare for enemy engagement ording to Emergency n BC-47. I repeat, suspicious mobile forces detected near the directed route…”
...
The staff on the heavy transport ship shed their white jumpsuits in the armory and slipped into ck body suits scattered with numerous tiny metal discs.
Mechanical arms descended from the ceiling, opened equipment storage cabs on the walls, and began attachingponents of power armor to the staff.
In no time, the entire ship’s staff hadpleted their armaments with the help of the mechanical arms.
They transformed into a squad of space marines, each d in full power armor.
Armed with power armor and an Organic Extinction Ray Gun in hand, the staff were more than a match for any organic lifeform daring enough to board.
The Organic Extinction Ray Gun had its advantages.
It only harmed organic life forms and had no effect on metal creations.
When firing upon enemies, the rays would pass through their armor and directly affect their bodies.
This handy weapon was perfect for facing humans in a boarding battle.
Nnd Lee had never seen the power of the Organic Extinction Ray Gun, but that didn’t stop him from devising a targeted n.
He had covertly added several new spells to the “Magic Leap” spell list avable to yers.
These were shape-shifting spells that could temporarily transform yers into non-organic entities, with ‘Mud Body’ being one of the more famous ones.
With these shape-shifting spells, yers could be impervious to the Organic Extinction Ray Gun.
As for the power armor on the staff…
Well…
Nnd Lee thought it was better to let the yers figure out how to deal with that themselves; he didn’t need to worry too much.
Nnd Lee withdrew his right hand from the wall and sensed the situation inside and outside the ship.
At the same time as the staff were arming themselves, Nnd Lee had used mental magic and metal magic to make some minor modifications to all ships in the transport fleet.
He had installed small devices near each ship’s shield generator that could be triggered any time to cut off their power-supply lines.
With just a thought, he could cause the ships’ shields to lose power and briefly fail before emergency power kicked in.
This would help the yers bypass the fleet’s shields.
Moreover, Nnd Lee had installed simr switches by the cargo doors of each ship.
Once yers broke through a ship’s shields, Nnd Lee would issue them a side task, guiding them to forcibly open the doors from the outside.
With the shields gone and the external armor as ineffective as a certain defensive line, the fleet would inevitably fall prey to the yers.
Of course, Nnd Lee’s intervention might not be necessary.
Given the yers’ intelligence and wit, they might just work Third-Ring Wizard spells in ways he never imagined.
Nnd Lee checked his setup one more time, nodded in satisfaction, and then sensed a strong surge of energy whizzing past the ship.
“Oh? The fleetmander sent out the apanying Artificial Angels?”
Nnd Lee closed his eyes and observed the battlefield with mental magic.
He saw twenty mountainous Artificial Angels transform into shooting stars, hurtling towards the yer-fillednding pods.
As they flew, these Artificial Angels extended their hands, each holding a silvery white longsword.
Laser beams, five meters thick, shot out from the tips of their swords.
Upon detecting the Angels’ attack, the yers immediately maneuvered theirnding pods to perform an emergency avoidance action.
However, theser beams fired by the Artificial Angels possessed automatic targeting capabilities.
They spiraled and turned in space, catching up with the evadingnding pods.
“Bang bang bang—”
Several bright fireworks exploded in space, adding a faint blush to the dark green universe.
Nnd Lee frowned slightly, realizing that the presence of the Artificial Angels posed the greatest threat to the yers.
But there was good news.
Even though thending pods were destroyed, the yers were rtively unharmed.
The ‘Hurricane Shield’ provided by ‘Space Walking’ was enough to protect the yers from the kic shock of the explosion.
Aside from a few unlucky ones directly hit by theser rays, the rest of the yers escaped the explosion within one second.
These surviving yers, facing a smaller number of powerful Artificial Angels, adopted the wisest strategy.
They scattered, breaking up from a few hundred-strong main force into over a hundred smaller squads, converging on the transport fleet from various directions.
Nnd Lee found this strange.
These yers came from five Great Guilds, yet their behavior seemed as if they were following themands of a single person.
Nnd Lee himself had given the yers no orders, so who wasmanding the yers from five different Great Guilds?
“Interesting, could there be someone in the Great Guilds specializing in spacebat strategies?”
Nnd Lee raised an eyebrow, intending to meet this yermander after the battle.
That said, Nnd Lee didn’t believe that dividing their forces was conducive to the yers breaking through the Artificial Angels’ blockade.
