?Chapter 929: 290. With a hidden meaning_3
III:
“Mirror Land.”
A medium sub-dimensional level Magic Relic, inhabited by mirror creatures capable of infinite rebirth.
Anyone entering this Magic Relic will inevitably encounter a mirror creature that is a one-to-one replica of themselves.
If the mirror creature kills the Original Master, it can then enter the natural world and live on as them, undetected, until discovered.
Mirror creatures can be possessed, dismembered, and their dismembered limbs transnted onto the Original Master to rece their damaged parts. <div>
...
Nnd Lee felt that the mirror creatures could be regarded as clones for medical purposes.
In fact, those humans aware of these extraordinary creations indeed used them as a “spare parts warehouse” for their bodies.
The location of this Magic Relic is in the Battlefield in in the central part of Kashel Continent.
This area is in perpetual war; the surrounding Magical Kingdoms have long fought over “Mirror Land,” hence it’s known as the Battlefield in.
The Ulnas Circle does not intervene in the wars of Magic Kingdoms, so there are no First-Grade Magic Institutions within the warring Magic Kingdoms.
IV:
Thest Magic Relic mentioned on the Letter Paper is named “Clockwork Magical Tomb.”
It is a medium sub-dimension, filled with countless clocks.
Each clock holds its own meaning.
Explorers must figure out the significance of each clock and strictly adhere to the time disyed when acting.
For instance, if a clock indicates there are only 10 seconds left until “mealtime,” explorers must stop whatever they are doing and prepare to eat.
Being one second early orte in cing food into their mouths would result in the Magic Relic’s power transforming them into new clocks.
The clocks that arise from transformed explorers also hold their own meanings and time information.
Now herees the interesting part.
This Magic Relic was originally a small sub-dimensional ne.
Many, after hearing of its features, believed that as long as they acted ording to the time information, they could safely wander within the relic.
Correct, the rules of this Magic Relic are rtively simple, but when the number of people increased, so did the urrences of tardiness.
In just about 10 years, this Magic Relic evolved from a small sub-dimension to a medium sub-dimension, gain at least fifty thousand clocks made from transformed explorers.
The letter Nnd Lee received stated that now, upon entering the “Clockwork Magical Tomb,” one would encounter at least five clocks simultaneously.
If unlucky and unable to promptly understand the meaning of the clocks, being transformed into one would be inevitable.
“Hmm, interesting. The five Magic Relics that ‘Lamp’ selected seem to have a deeper meaning,” Nnd Lee murmured.
Denise Green leaned on him, teasing his cheek with her hair, causing Nnd Lee to shrink his neck.
Denise Green chuckled softly, then asked in confusion:
“What deeper meaning?”
Nnd Lee flicked the Letter Paper:
“Look.
“‘Soulbound Abyss’ is rted to the Soul.
“‘Wriggling Feast’ is a gathering ce for flesh.
“‘Shattered Labyrinth’ is involved with Space.
“‘Mirror in’s’ enemy is oneself, rather than external things.
“And thest one, ‘Clockwork Magical Tomb,’ needs no exnation, ‘Time’ is its theme.”
Nnd Lee stroked Denise Green’s chin with his fingertip:
“Five Magic Relics corresponding to Soul, Body, Self, Time, and Space. It’s unlikely to be a coincidence; it must’ve been deliberately chosen by your Professor.”
Denise Green tilted her head slightly, studied the Letter Paper for a moment, and nodded as if enlightened:
“…Right~ it does seem like that.”
Nnd Lee asked:
“Denise, did ‘Lamp’ provide any other Resurrection Witches with information about Magic Relics?”
Denise Green scratched her head, deep in thought:
“I remember there was. A few times when I went to seek advice from her, I encountered several high-level Resurrection Witches. From their conversations at the time, it appeared they were there to buy information about Magic Relics from the Professor.”
“What kind of Strength did those Resurrection Witches possess? Did they have Contractors?” Nnd Lee continued to inquire.
“Let me check the list of Resurrection Witches from past years, give me a moment.”
Denise Green reached for her Magic Pouch and began to rummage through it.
Two minutester, she found a notebook.
“This is the notebook I used while studying at the Academy.” Denise flipped through the notebook and stopped on a page filled with names.
She took a magic pen and circled six names on this page.
As she reminisced, she drew a “cross mark” on four of the names, and then drew a circle and a question mark respectively on the other two names.
“Nnd, these six Resurrection Witches are the ones who bought information from the Professor. I don’t know exactly how many people have bought information from the Professor; I’ve only met these six,” Denise said.
Pointing at the “cross marks” with the tip of her pen, Denise exined:
“The cross marks indicate that these Resurrection Witches have fallen. They might have died in battle, or simply of old age.”
“The one with the circle is still alive. She has advanced to the Seventh Ring and also has a Contractor.”
“The one with the question mark is still alive too, but she no longer has a Contractor.”
Denise asked:
“Do you need me to write to the two remaining Resurrection Witches to inquire?”
Nnd pondered before answering:
“Yes, we do. Not just those two, but try to find out the causes of death for the four who’ve fallen as well. If it turns out that the information they bought is simr to ours, or even identical, then I’ll have to reconsider our cooperation with Professor Lamp.”
Denise sensed a cautious undertone:
“Do you mean to say that Professor Lamp is using us?”
“It’s not exactly using us; I’d say it’s a matter of mutual benefit,” Nnd replied:
“Don’t worry, Denise. It’s only spection at this point. If worsees to worst, I’ll go talk to Professor Erica, though she definitely doesn’t want me exploring the Magic Relics and is keen on having me back in the ssroom.”
“Hmm… I’d like you back in the ssroom too, to acquire the Sub-Dimensional ne through the proper procedures.” Denise hugged Nnd, tilting her head back and adding:
“The Pomida Family is such a nuisance. Without their interference, you would definitely have ascended to a Seven-Ring Wizard without any trouble.”
“It’s normal to encounter resistance, Denise,” said Nnd as he gently rubbed her cheek:
“We’ve grown too fast, gaining too much wealth in a short period of time. It’s bound to attract some malice and suspicion. But, as I’ve said before, we cannot rely on the mercy of others. Start your meditation. We’ll inquire about the Magic Relics tomorrow.”
“Okay~”
As usual, Nnd activated “Mind View” and did a round of inspection on Ind 33.
When his gaze fell upon the fourth-floor balcony, a figure dressed in a nightgown appeared within his Magic Vision.
That was Nicolette.
She was gazing up at the starry sky.
Just as Nnd noticed her, she turned her head, as if detecting his attention, and looked towards him.
A pair of eyes shimmering with faint purple radiance appeared within Nnd’s Magic Vision, reflecting contemtion and bewilderment.
Nnd released Deconstruction.
The Nicolette before him wasbeled by the System as “Assassin Angel’s Division.”
So, the person gazing at the starry sky was the Assassin Angel, not Nicolette.
An ethereal voice prated the Magic Vision and reached Nnd’s mind:
“What do you call this starry sky?”
The voice was androgynous, devoid of emotional fluctuations, and it spoke anguage unfamiliar to Nnd, yet he understood it.
Nnd activated “Mind Induction” and replied:
“The Inner Cosmos.”
“Nicolette” nodded, turned back into the house,y down, and closed her eyes.
Nnd turned off “Mind View” and “Mind Induction” and leaned against the headboard in deep thought.
The Big Shot’s willingness tomunicate was a good sign.
It indicated that they bore no ill will and also meant that, when the time was right, Nnd might be able to extract some information from them.
If some form ofpensation was needed, that would be eptable, but only if it didn’t cross Nnd’s bottom line.
“By the way, Nnd, how do you n to amodate Nicolette?” Denise askedzily as shey on him.
“Hmm… Let’s start preparing her for the Magic Enlightenment.” Nnd counted on his fingers and calcted:
“Nicolette is 16 years old now. The best age for Magic Enlightenment is between 12 and 18 years. She has two more years to train her ability to sense Magic Energy. You usually help her with her studies. Once she’s ready, I’ll have Selena perform the Magic Enlightenment on her.”
“Alright~” Denise obediently responded, then asked:
“What if Nicolette’s Magic Enlightenment fails?”
Nnd made a fist and tapped his palm:
“Then we’ll teach her Alchemy.”
“Okay~”
