Chapter 812: 257. Irond Evidence of the Hidden Chamber 2
He set down his tea cup and looked at Nnd Lee, saying,
“Regarding the Marnk affair, I have told you all I know. If you still have any doubts, please feel free to ask.”
“I appreciate your cooperation,” Nnd Lee nodded slightly towards him.
“I hear you’ve been living in the Core Circle recently, haven’t you, Jarvis?” Sidney Palmida said with a half-smiling expression,
“It seems you quite enjoy the living environment within the Core Circle—clear sea water, refreshing air, the calm sea surface. If you want to move to arger stone house in the Visitor’s Area, just let me know. I’ll select a few prime locations for you. You also have a Resurrection Witch forpany, right? She seems to stick to you like a shadow, only staying alone when you leave the Core Circle.”
Sidney Palmida’s smile widened,
“Don’t worry, Jarvis. As a counter-defence wizard of the Deep Sea Branch and a private friend of Selena’s, your Resurrection Witch will be safe while you’re away from the Core Circle—I guarantee it.”
“Oh, then thank you for your care,” Nnd Lee responded with a smile,
“It’s not early anymore, Pomida. I won’t disturb you from handling your academic affairs.”
“Take care, Jarvis,” Sidney Palmida stood up and escorted Nnd Lee to the door.
Nnd Lee bid farewell at the door and stepped into the Corridor.
A faint cold light shed through the depths of Nnd Lee’s eyes.
Nnd Lee possessed a “Hatred Value” panel.
He had precisely caught the dark intentions Sidney Palmida harbored when he brought up Denise Green.
The moment Sidney Palmida had turned the conversation to Denise, the “Hatred Value” on the panel had significantly risen.
Heh.
Selena’s second brother?
Even if Selena herself defected to the sea monsters, Nnd Lee would y her without hesitation, let alone a traitor who meant nothing to him.
Of course, Selena would never defect—otherwise, Nnd Lee wouldn’t have signed a soul contract with her.
When it came to judging people, Nnd Lee was always adept.
Simply eliminating Sidney Palmida was not the result Nnd Lee wanted.
He nned to make good use of this opportunity.
…
…
Several hourster.
Suman Archipgo, Outer Ring.
Isle number 52335.
This was a medium-sized isle, its greatest width over 110 kilometers.
There were several low mountains on the ind, an artificially created freshwaterke, and a Sea Water Purification Workshop.
The scale of the Purification Workshop was quiterge, upying all of the mountaintops. The freshwaterke, encircled by mountains, was being used as an open reservoir by the workshop.
If one were to make a simple inquiry at the Ind Affairs Department in the City of Suman, it wouldn’t be difficult to learn that this purification workshop was an asset of the Deep Sea Branch.
It was specifically responsible for conducting magic experiments here, testing the purification effects of different water purification methods on the sea water of the Outer Ring.
It was dusk.
The sunset glow reddened the treetops of the dense forest and sprinkled light patches on the freshwaterke.
The workshop wizards of the Purification Workshoppleted their shift handovers—those on duty remained, and those who finished rested. No one noticed that the underground world a kilometer below was stirring with ripples.
“Boom…”
“Boom…”
“Boom…”
The deep thuds echoed throughout the pitch-ck underground space.
The hollow-eyed skeletons silently watched as the Rock Spirit swung its fists.
With each punch the Rock Spirit threw at the stone in front of it, a streak of brown earth energy radiance emerged from its fist, piercing into the dull stone wall.
The stone wall melted like wax, caving inwards and forming a cubic tunnel three meters in height, width, and length.
Once the tunnel was shaped, the Rock Spirit took a few steps forward, swung its fist again, and with the brown earth energy, opened another section of the tunnel at the far end of the wall.
“Hmm, not bad, this ‘Stone Passage’ spell is pretty handy,” Nnd Leemented as a skeleton, shaking his head and looking up,
“The noise and vibrations are a bit loud though, easily detectable by the workshop wizards above ground. Luckily, my ‘Perception Obstruction’ significantly lowers the wizards’ ability to perceive underground vibrations. Otherwise, it would be quite difficult to sneak into Sidney Palmida’s hidden chamber from below.”
Nnd Lee used the “Tracking Mark” ced on the ground to confirm his location.
He clenched his fist toward the Rock Spirit.
The Rock Spirit immediately stopped its fists, ceasing to make more noise.
Nnd Lee crouched down, his bone palm pressing to the ground.
An invisible spell wave emerged from his palm, burrowing into the hard rock and soil below.
This was a high-level rock and soil series spell, “Detect Geomancy Energy.”
Wizards of the Pang Family used this spell to search vaguely for underground ore veins.
Now, it served as Nnd Lee’s means of pinpointing the hidden chamber.
“Detect Geomancy Energy” did not provide Magic Vision.
The spell wave radiated from Nnd Lee’s palm, extending in the direction it was aimed. When it encountered a section of rock whose density changed dramatically, the spell wave would return along its path.
At this point, as the caster, Nnd Lee would vaguely sense something unusual underground.
By changing angles and casting locations, casting multiple times could improve the spell’s uracy.
But for Nnd Lee, that was unnecessary.
He just wanted to use the spell to ensure he was on the right path.
“Directly below, roughly… five hundred meters down, yes, that should be Sidney Palmida’s hidden chamber, no mistake.”
Nnd Lee reached into the Blood Gathering Array, pulling out a Mechanos equipped with a drill bit.
