Chapter 808: 256. Optional betrayal
Nnd Lee obtained the shaping ns for the “Underwater Scorching Ray” and the “Sonic st” techniques but did not immediately leave theboratory.
Nolin’s ability in scientific research was evident to all.
Nnd Lee had many ingenious ideas that he wanted to realize through her.
The most typical example was the shipborne shield.
Nnd Lee now had 40 points in “Spirit,” and the level of his “Magic Shield” was 100-level, with a single shield casting strength of 200 points.
In one second, his “Magic Shield” could automatically cycle and cast 40 times, resulting in a total shield strength of 8000 points.
This 8000 points of shield strength was hardly impressive.
Even stacking resistance to 99%, it could only withstand 800,000 points of magic energy damage.
Never mind Tenth Ring Battle Wizards, Nnd Lee could use his Elemental Energy Reactor to obliterate himself in an instant.
So, was it possible to use magic metal armor to enhance his defensive power?
Nnd Lee had considered this approach.
In the end, he dismissed the strategy.
The Metal Ancestor Dragon was the greatest risk.
With that cunning old dragon around, all metal creations posed a potential risk of betrayal.<div>
Secondly, Nnd Lee had inquired with Professor Erica and Comini, learning that one of the requirements for wearing magic metal armor was meeting a “Spirit” standard.
The higher the “Spirit,” the stronger the magic metal armor a person could wear.
Also, due to theck of the Metal System Meditation Method, non-Metal System wizards could not actively adjust the resistance values of the armor once donned.
They had to find a Metal Wizard to help them adjust the armor’s resistance before or after battles.
Given the shortfalls of both the “Magic Shield” and magic metal armor, Nnd Lee eventually decided to enhance his defensive capabilities with a type of magic product akin to technology.
The obvious best method was to find shipborne shield generators dismantled from disc-shaped ships by wizards.
If Nnd Lee cast Deconstruction on one of these, he should be able to retrieve the shaping n he wanted.
Here’s where it got tricky.
The shipborne shield generators weren’t in the hands of the Wizard Enforcement Department.
They were taken by the Pure Light Court.
The reason given by the Pure Light Court was that they needed the shipborne shield generators to improve their “Sunlight Technique,” enabling it to breakws effectively.
This reason was irrefutable.
The Pure Light Court had always maintained a strong position within the Realm of Wizards.
No wizard forces raised objections.
Like the shipborne shield generators, the reactors, boost burners, inertial dampers, space jump engines, etc., from the disc-shaped ships also fell into the hands of Pure Light Court.
Hotams didn’t lose out either.
Being an entity with overall strength on par with the Pure Light Court, Hotams took all the shipborne weapons and ammunition from the disc-shaped ships.
Those items with lower research value, such as the armor expansion tes and injectors, ended up in the hands of variousrge and small wizard forces.
Nnd Lee knew this information from deconstructing the memory fragments of Loymin.
Nolin was unaware that Nnd Lee had the means to read memories.
She recounted the events that took ce among the crew and on the disc-shaped ship.
From beginning to end, her tone carried a sense of detachment, as though she were an observer.
It seemed she had thoroughlye to terms with her identity and role.
She hadpletely severed herself from “Loymin.”
“Sir, I’m sorry, but I am unable to replicate the shield generator from the disc-shaped ships,”
Nolin said apologetically:
“The shield generators designed and manufactured by the Metal Creation Group require various rare metal ores from the XBII-73 Mineral. I didn’t find anything simr to them in the Encyclopedia of Magic Materials you provided.”
“Then it seems I need to find a way to get the shipborne shield generators from the Pure Light Court…” Nnd Lee mused.
“Actually, I have an alternative option, sir,” Nolin said:
“Before shipborne shield generators were invented, the previous generation of interster ships used a variety of shipborne devices to increase the ship’s survival rate. While these devices don’t match the shield generator’s defensive performance, their construction difficulty is much lower.”
Nnd Lee raised an eyebrow:
“Oh? For example?”
Nolin counted on her fingers, listing as if reciting treasures:
“For instance, the intelligent decoy bomb. Against missiles with built-in navigationputers, the intelligent decoy bomb works wonders.
“Also, the fully automatic shipborne cannon with extremely high tracking speed and the apanying ballisticputer. Together, they are known as the ship’s close defense guards, capable of preventing any flying device or missile from approaching the ship within 10 kilometers.”
Nnd Lee’s eyes lit up.
Nolin continued:
“Then there’s the energy neutralization pulse wave projector.
“Before the invention of shield generators, interster ships relied more on energy neutralization pulse wave projectors to counter electromaic and thermal damage.
“It can create a neutralizing energy pulse wave in the target area. When aser beam fromser weapons or a projectile driven by specific energy passes through this neutralizing energy pulse wave zone, its energy will be neutralized by the pulse wave.
“Laser weapons’ beams would significantly weaken or even vanish entirely. Projectiles from mixed turrets would be harmless due to the dissipation of energy.”
Seeing the expectant look on Nnd Lee’s face, Nolin smiled and said:
