Vol 2 Chapter 99: Blood Kill Tower
"Lin Jing, huh?"
At the Genius Rankings Battle, thanks to the relentless promotions by the <em>Dragon Pce’s External PR Agents</em> (hired by Xu Zhizhi), even the top-ranked geniuses were now familiar with Lin Jing’s name.
Xu Zhizhi had spent a fortune on this—though he didn’t pay for extra publicity, he had given each promoter a highly valuable entry ticket to the battle.
"Interesting. I hadn’t noticed him before, but now that I’ve taken a closer look, this <em>Holy Son of the Beast Taming Sect</em> really isn’t simple. Should I quickly refine a treasure specifically to counter beast tamers?"
Among the audience, an orange-haired man grinned. He was Yan Xiangbei, the third-ranked genius on the <em>Human List</em>, from <em>Burning Immortal Valley</em> of the Fire Domain.
Although Lin Jing was already ranked on the Genius Rankings, he was only in the low twenties. That wasn’t enough to draw serious attention from the top contenders.
But after the rankings were updated again, Lin Jing''s position was now 25th ce.
Lin Jing, disciple of the Beast Taming Sect from the Great Wastnd Domain, Qi Refinement 11th Stage.Broke the extreme limit of Qi Refinement alongside his pet beast. Possesses a Foundation Establishment pet beast. Easily defeated two Core Disciples from the Myriad Beast Sect of Qingzhou, both at the Peak of Foundation Establishment!
Even though <em>Tianji Pavilion</em> had deliberately concealed details about Lin Jing’s <em>Longevity Body</em> and <em>Blood Path Techniques</em> to protect him, his record alone was already quite shocking.
"Qi Refinement 11th Stage… making the rankings at Qi Refinement level..."
On a floating stone tform, a young man in a ck-and-white Daoist robe spoke slowly.
Because Lin Jing had not publicly demonstrated his breakthrough to Qi Refinement 12th Stage, the rankings were still slightly outdated.
"The Beast Taming Sect’s techniques rely on pet beasts providing cultivation feedback. That might be how he reached Qi Refinement 11th Stage."
"Normally, a cultivator at Qi Refinement 10th Stage already hasbat power equivalent to early Foundation Establishment. Qi Refinement 11th Stage would be on par with mid-Foundation Establishment."
"This Lin Jing has reached Qi Refinement 11th Stage himself, plus he has a Foundation Establishment pet beast. Ranking in the twenties is indeed impressive. But I wonder if he has already reached Foundation Establishment?"
"If he has, then with the foundation of Qi Refinement 11th Stage, his power would be terrifying. And if he’s contracted a second pet beast by now, then he really needs to be taken seriously."
The one speaking was Chen Zhongdao, the top-ranked genius on the Human List.
"That said… my <em>Spell Spirit Origin</em> is quite simr to a pet beast in function. I wonder if Lin Jing can force me to reveal its full power?"
Among the top ten on the Genius Rankings, every single one of them could fight Golden Core cultivators despite being at Foundation Establishment.
Now that they had analyzed Lin Jing’s information, even the best-ranked geniuses acknowledged <em>Dragon Pce’s Lin Jing</em> as a formidable opponent.
After all, breaking into the rankings at Qi Refinement alone was impressive enough. If he had already reached Foundation Establishment, he would be an absolute nightmare to deal with.
However, what they didn’t know was… Lin Jing was still at Qi Refinement Stage.
Moreover, now that he had discovered a method to reach Qi Refinement 13th Stage, he had no ns to advance to Foundation Establishment anytime soon.
The next few matches proceeded rtively normally. Most geniuses fought using their sect or family techniques—nobody pulled a stunt like Gao Sheng.
Until…
"Match Six: Cao Yi from ck Wind Mountain."
"Versus: Zi Linger from Dan Ding Sect."
ck Wind Mountain was a sect located in the dangerous bordends. Its disciples specialized in wind techniques and relied on unique environments to cultivate. Because of this, they rarely left their territory.
Cao Yi was ranked somewhere in the 90s on the Genius Rankings. He had entered this battle mainly to protect his spot from dropping out of the top 100.
He descended onto the arena, wrapped in ck wind.
Upon hearing that his opponent was an alchemist—and that she wasn’t even ranked—he immediately assumed this would be an easy win.
However…
When he saw Zi Linger step onto the stage, holding a Pill Rabbit, he fell into deep thought.
"Wait… you’re not part of <em>Dragon Pce</em> too, are you?" he asked cautiously.
He had heard the name <em>Dragon Pce</em> so many times from the audience that his ears were practically bleeding.
"Why is everyone obsessed with that stupid student organization? Have they never seen the world before?"
Zi Linger responded indifferently, "Now that you mention it… yes, I did join."
Cao Yi: "…"
"Don’t worry," Zi Linger said, smiling. "I’ll go easy on you."
The Pill Rabbit in her arms twitched, ncing at Cao Yi’s beast—a Dragonblood Rabbit.@@novelbin@@
"Wait… you have a King-tier bloodline beast too?" Cao Yi muttered.
Silently, he took out a handful of pills and shoved them into his beast’s mouth.
The Pill Rabbit had been maintaining a gentle, docile appearance using its Mimicry Pill.
But the moment it swallowed the pills, it transformed—its muscles bulged, its long ears became dragon horns, and a faint red glow filled its eyes.
Standing on its hind legs, it was actually taller than Cao Yi himself.
Zi Linger’s Pill Rabbit immediately sensed a dangerous presence. It quickly summoned two white wind formations, unleashing twin wind dragons toward the opponent.
Unfortunately for her, Cao Yi’s Dragonblood Rabbit, after consuming a ridiculous amount of power-enhancing pills, had reached a level of brute force thatpletely defiedmon sense.
"ROAR!!!"
With a single leap, it shredded through the wind dragons with its ws.
It then lunged at the Pill Rabbit, which quickly raised a wind barrier for defense.
But the Dragonblood Rabbit simply punched through the barrier, sending the Pill Rabbit and its owner flying out of the arena.
"ROAR!!!"
The victorious Dragonblood Rabbit then beat its chest in triumph—only to fracture its own ribs.
Unfazed, it calmly pulled out a Bone Mending Pill, swallowed it, and continued acting like nothing had happened.
The crowd was speechless.
"What the hell is this? What kind of monster is that?!"
Even the alchemists in the audience were dumbfounded.
"Wait a second… isn’t <em>Dan Ding Sect</em> supposed to be famous for fire control techniques and alchemy mes? Since when did they start feeding experimental pills to their beasts and letting the beasts do the fighting?!"
This was the second shocking match featuring a <em>Dragon Pce</em> member.
First, Gao Sheng.
Now, Zi Linger.
One thing became clear—thebat style of Dragon Pce members waspletely unorthodox!
It was as if Lin Jing, the <em>Holy Son of the Beast Taming Sect</em>, was corrupting geniuses from other sects, dragging them all into the Beast Taming Path!
Yet… no one could deny that both Gao Sheng’s and Zi Linger’s Dragonblood Beasts were terrifyingly strong.
A thought began creeping into the minds of many cultivators—
<em>"Damn… I wish I had a beast like that."</em>
Finally, Lin Jing’s match was announced.
"Match Forty-Two: Lin Jing, Beast Taming Sect."
"Versus: Qi Yuan, Blood Kill Tower."
The audience erupted with excitement—finally, <em>Dragon Pce’s leader</em> was about to fight!
But then someone frowned.
"Wait… Blood Kill Tower? Isn’t that an assassin organization from Qingzhou? How are they even allowed in the Genius Rankings Battle?!"
Lin Jing nced at his opponent and chuckled.
"So, you’re here to advertise your sect too?"
