Even though I’d barely spoken a word to Karaham—if that—it had been enough for the magical device to activate. Despite intentionally moving away to avoid triggering Ethan’s suspicions, the vibrations in my body showed no signs of stopping.

While his delinquent streak from the original story had been nearly erased, his enjoyment of treating women this way clearly lingered. As long as it didn’t escte, I could handle it.
In the past, I might have scolded him thoroughly to break this bad habit, but now I was his wife. If I could tolerate it, there wasn’t much need to change him. Not that I <em>enjoyed</em> this childish game, of course.
