One of the onlookers told Marissa everything, leaving nothing out.
Marissa turned pale with shock.
"Tessa! Tessa, are you okay?" Marissa ran toward Tessa, grabbing her hand before looking her over carefully.
"Are you hurt?" Marissa asked in concern.
Tessa shook her head.
Stephen, who was standing next to them, regarded Marissa with a cold yet probing gaze.
"Did you invite them here?" Stephen''s voice was low, but anyone could tell that he was pissed.
Marissa hastily shook her head. "No, I didn''t invite them here. I barely even know him."
Stephen''s jaw tightened upon hearing her words. "If you didn''t invite them, then why are they here?"
Marissa sounded anxious as she tried to defend herself, exining, "It really wasn''t me. Stevie, I did invite a few friends from Sudmere. However, Bruno is not one of them. He must''vee aboard with one of my friends."
"Even if your friend is the one who brought him along, shouldn''t you be aware of it? If I''m not mistaken, you should have a guest list, no? Are you trying to tell me that you have no idea he was on this ship?" Stephen looked at her sharply, exuding a biting chill.
Marissa fell silent at that, losing what was left of her indignance. "I did skim through the list. I didn''t think much of it when I saw Bruno''s name there. Still, I wouldn''t have allowed him entry if I''d known he had a grudge on Tessa!"
Stephen''s face was still stone cold despite her earnest demeanor.
Marissa looked hurt as she asked, "Stevie, do you not trust me?"
Stephen''s face darkened further as he spat, "No, I don''t."
Marissa turned stark white, her eyes welling up with tears.
She turned to look at Tessa and asked with a hint of pleading in her tone, "Tessa, do you not trust me either?"
Tessa pursed her lips, looking away as she quietly tried to piece things together.
Marissa''s heart sank in the face of Tessa''s silence.
There was an undeniable look of despair and grievance on her face as she murmured, "How could either of you not believe me?
"Tessa''s my savior. If I''d known that Bruno had a grudge against her, there''s no way I would''ve allowed Bruno on my ship. I would never hurt Tessa."
Just then, Sienna, Naomi, Quentin, Henry, and Samantha approached them.
"Tessa, what''s going on?" Naomi asked.
Tessa briefly exined the entire situation to them.
Naomi flew into a rage as she hissed, "Serves him right. How dare he treat you like that!"
Sienna turned to scrutinize Marissa after hearing Tessa''s words. At the moment, Marissa looked utterly miserable.
Regardless, Sienna couldn''t help but suspect Marissa''s role in this.

There were indeed several dorsal fins cutting through the water and heading straight for them in the distance.

The screaming on the ship had gotten so loud that even Bruno, who was struggling in the sea, heard it all.
The news of his impending death made him freeze in terror, his blood turning to ice in his veins.
He began thrashing harder, kicking wildly, and sshing water absolutely everywhere.
Stephen stood by the railing, watching the show unfold with cold eyes.
Tessa turned to Stephen and said, "That''s enough. Drag him back up."
She wasn''t pitying Bruno. She just didn''t want this to turn into a crime scene.
Tessa knew that Stephen was only trying to scare Bruno by throwing the despicable pest overboard.` Stephen had no intention of actually feeding Bruno to the sharks.
