Chapter 492

"Do you think I''m some kind of doormat? Should I just sit back and take the abuse?"

"You-" Gideon was at a loss for words.

Gabriel suddenlyshed out, kicking Gideon hard. "Useless idiot!"

Gideon hit the ground, disbelief etched across his face.

"Uncle!" Struggling to his feet, Gideon protested, "Whatever you say, you''re still my uncle. How can you treat us like this?"

"Why shouldn''t I? You got yourselves into this mess by crossing the wrong people, forcing me to betray my own savior. She''s more important to me than you are!"

After hurling a few more insults, Gabriel turned to Calliope. After a moment of hesitation, he pulled out a bank card.

"There''s three million on this card. It''spensation for you."

"Only three million?" Calliope nced at Gabriel with a raised eyebrow. "Surely you''re not that broke?"

"I, uh... I''m really strapped for cash. Mypany isn''t fully on track yet." Gabriel swallowed hard. "I''ll transfer more to you regrly, I promise!"

"Alright, but make sure to send me half of it every month."

"What?" Gabriel looked at Calliope, eyes wide with disbelief.

"Is that a problem?" Calliope''s expression turned surprised. "Otherwise, maybe you shouldn''t run yourpany at all!"

"No, no, it''s fine! Of course, it''s fine. Half is too little, I''ll give you sixty percent of whatever I make! I''ll even share mypany''s stock with you! How about youe on board as the vice president? With your skills, ourpany would definitely flourish!"

Gabriel was genuinely scared of Calliope, and he remembered that she had once saved him.

But most importantly, he knew her status was far from ordinary. She was someone he couldn''t afford to cross. On the contrary, with Calliope''s backing, he was certain he could make a fortune.

Gabriel was a smart man. He realized his mistake and was willing to pay Calliope back.

Calliope, seeing Gabriel''s eagerness to make amends, wasn''t as angry anymore. She turned her attention to Gideon and Fleur.

"And what about them? What are you nning to do?"

"Whatever you say, I''ll do. I''m willing to turn against them for justice!" Gabriel dered.

"What if I don''t say anything? How would you handle it on your own?" Calliope asked.

"I''ll sever ties with them. Whatever they ask of me in the future, I won''t do it! And this guy? He''s screwed up enough. I''ll break his leg right now!"

Without waiting for Calliope''s approval, Gabriel swiftly kicked Gideon''s leg, breaking it.

Gideon, pletely caught off guard, was overtaken by a surge of excruciating pain. His screams pierced the air as he copsed onto

    the ground, the agony searing

    through him.

"Calliope, how can you be so ruthless?" Gideon supported himself with his hands,

unable to stand, sweat pouring down his face from the pain.

"It wasn''t me who kicked you, was it? How am I ruthless?"

"Wasn''t it you who wanted to kidnap me?"

"I''m just sitting here, waiting for you to try," Calliope replied with a slight smile. She grabbed a bag of popcorn from the table, helping herself to a handful.

ncing at Gabriel, she remarked, "Your uncle seems to know what''s what, Gideon. With so many paths to choose from, why did you insist on taking the most treacherous one?"
