Chapter 145

Especially since sitting across from Sylvia was Rupert.

He was lounging back, legs crossed, his long index finger pressed against his forehead, looking at her with an amused gaze. Immediately, Sylvia looked down to find the button on her seat, hoping to swivel it toward the driving position.

Instead, she identally activated the massage function, and the buzzing sound filled the car, leaving her in utter embarrassment. Frantically searching for the button, she felt a pair of hands casually rest on her armrest, his body leaning slightly towards her.

A fresh scent wafted over, and she immediately leaned back, avoiding getting any closer to the man. But their eyes met unavoidably. They locked eyes briefly before she quickly looked away, while he simply lowered his gaze, fiddling with the buttons on the armrest. Finally...

    "It''s broken," Rupert said nonchntly.

Sylvia was left speechless. She raised her eyes to meet his. His longshes lifted slightly as his gazezily lingered on her, not even bothering to hide his deceit.

All she could do was clench her fists and turn her head away, staring at the dead screen.

Rupert shifted back to his original position, not looking at her but instead gazing out of the window, his eyes flickering.

Sylvia felt helpless, and from the corner of her eye, she caught Bridget sending a chilling look her way.

Unbothered, she simply closed her eyes.

Suddenly, a familiar voice exploded in her ear.

    "Sylvia."

    Freya!

Sylvia turned to see the person in the front seat.

Freya, with her face delicately made up, was smiling gently, showing no signs of the beating she''d supposedly received that morning.

Noticing Sylvia''s puzzled look, Freya waved her hand. "Ms. Eloise originally wanted Be to apany her to give Bailey a gift, but Be got caught up with work at thest minute, so she sent me instead." Be?

Sylvia didn''t need to ask- she knew this was Bridget''s doing.

It seemed the twodies were getting impatient again.

    Sylvia nodded, indicating she understood.

Then, Freya looked up at Rupert and

said timidly, "Mr. Rupert, we still have over two hours to drive, and I see the kettle''s boiling. How about I make you all some coffee?"

Rupert hummed in agreement, tapping the screen on the armrest.

The next moment, a rectangr table slowly extended from between the double seats, effectively separating the seating area.

Freya opened the hidden water dispenser beneath the side bar, brewed the coffee, and handed it to everyone respectfully.

As she handed Rupert his coffee, the car jerked, causing Freya to stumble and fall near his legs.

The coffee spilt over Rupert''s trousers and onto her pristine white shirt, revealing her undergarments beneath.

"I''m so sorry. Let me clean that up for you. If that doesn''t work, I''ll break the bank topensate you," she said, kneeling by his feet, using her faded handkerchief to dab athis trousers.  en

    A perfect picture of resilience.

Yet, Bridget looked like she wanted to crush the cup in her hand, though she managed to maintain her elegance.

"Freya, you don''t have to clean it. Please, go back and rest," Bridget warned.

Freya nodded but didn''t return to her

seat. Instead, she turned to Christine and, with a pleading tone, said, "Christine, my shirt is a bit see-through now. Could I sit here to dry off a bit? There''s no privacy curtain up front."

Christine immediately agreed, swapping ces without hesitation.

Once seated, Freya tugged at her shirt and blew on it in front of the air conditioning.

The fabric clung to her body with the breeze, outlining her undergarments clearly.

Bridget couldn''t stand it any longer and threw a jacket over to her.

"Don''t catch a cold. Layer up."

"Thank you, Ms. Simpson," Freya said, reluctantly putting on the jacket.

Seeing this, Sylvia had to suppress herughter and looked down to sip her coffee. Suddenly, something brushed against her foot.
