Chapter 635

Both Kelvin and Dalton froze, wondering if they had misheard.

Even after the words sank in, they couldn''t believe it. But York''s expression showed he wasn''t joking. And knowing his personality, they were sure he wasn''t the type to make such a joke anyway.

Kelvin swallowed. "Then you—" She was a married woman. What was he going to do? Was he really going to break up a family?

"She''s getting a divorce soon," York said. Seeing their reactions, he quickly added, "They were already in the process of divorcing."

Kelvin and Dalton naturally believed him, and they both let out a sigh of relief. With the tension broken, Kelvin''s curiosity resurfaced. "So who is she? After all these years of seeing you uninterested in anyone, I''m dying to know." Dalton was curious too.

York lowered his gaze, subtly ncing at Dalton before taking a sip of his drink. "I''ll tell you guyster, when the time is right."

Kelvin immediately caught on. "So, Dalton and I both know her?" he asked, excited.

Thinking of Charlene, York smiled faintly. "You know her, but you''re probably not close."

Kelvin and Dalton were speechless. Someone they both knew but weren''t close with? That could be anyone. They threw out several guesses, but York shook his head at each one. Not wanting them to keep guessing, he changed the subject.

They didn''t overdo it with the drinks, and as it approached midnight, they prepared to leave. On their way out, Kelvin whispered to Dalton, "I don''t think York would lie, but when Re says her divorce has nothing to de with him... not so sure its possible the woman is lying to him."

Dalton understood. It was certainly a possibility. York was an incredible catch; not many women could turn him down. Kelvin added. And did ??

you notice the look on his face when

he talked about her? You can tell

    he''s really fallen for her."

Dalton had seen it too. But this was York''s personal business. It wasn''t their ce to interfere.

The next morning, as Charlene was getting out of her car in front of her office building, she saw York get out of his car nearby and walk toward her. Charlene stopped. York walked up to her. "Are you free for lunch?"

Charlene''s immediate reaction was to refuse. "I''m sorry, I—" She did have time, of course. But knowing why he was asking, she felt she had to lie. But before the words could leave her ???

lips she met Yorks eyes and

paused. She could tell from his

knowing smile that he knew she was making an excuse.

York had just returned from his military base yesterday and had contacted Stewart right away. So he knew that Charlene still wasn''t divorced. From what Stewart said, it seemed the dy was on her husband''s side.

York had wanted to wait until her divorce was final before formally pursuing her, but he never expected that wait tost half a year. And they still weren''t divorced...
