"What... what in the world..."
Everyone on site exchanged stunned nces.
Mr. Windsor had guessed that Thorne had taken an interest in Charlene, but he never imagined Thorne would be so brazen about it.
He cleared his throat and offered a suggestion. "Well, thank you for your trouble, Mr. Henderson. Ms. Ross is good friends with one of PrimeStar''s female engineers.
How about we have her go upstairs to look after Ms. Ross?"
The other PrimeStar employees heard this and nodded frantically. "Yes, Mr. Henderson, perhaps—"
"No need to trouble yourselves," Thorne said, his gaze sweeping over the PrimeStar staff. "If you''re worried, you can report this to Mr. Ferguson."
With that, he said no more, turned, and left, holding the sleeping Charlene in his
arms.
The PrimeStar team was left dumbfounded, unsure of what Thorne meant. But this was a major incident, and they knew they had to inform Stewart.
One of them immediately called Stewart, stammering out the story. On the other end of the line, Stewart nearly gritted his teeth to dust but kept his voice even. "I''ve already arranged for someone to meet Charlene. What you''re imagining won''t happen, so please rest assured."
The caller finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Though the others still had their doubts, they felt a bit more at ease.
Thorne carried Charlene straight into the elevator, a scene witnessed by Leah and her family.
Seeing Thorne publicly carry Charlene and take her to her room, seemingly so concerned for her, didn''t initially strike Leah and Georgina as a big deal. After all, she was still his wife. Even if they were divorcing, it wasn''t earth-shattering for him to help her back to her room when she was drunk.
However, they had always heard that Thorne was incredibly cold to Charlene,
treating her like a stranger and not caring whether she lived or died.
While his actions now were different, they didn''t dwell on it.
Thorne didn''t see Leah''s group, Coy did. He wasn''t particrly
l.ne
surprised to Thorne carrying
Charlene to her room, as something simr had happened not long ago.
He nced at Thorne, who was looking down at Charlene, his expression unreadable.
When the elevator doors opened, Coy stepped out first to open the room door. Thorne carried Charlene inside, and Coy waited outside.
He stood there for fifteen, then twenty minutes, but Thorne didn''t emerge. After a moment, he stopped waiting and turned to leave.
As he headed downstairs, he happened to run into the Spencers in the elevator. Georgina and the others greeted him politely. "Coy."
Coy nodded. Before he could speak, Rhoda seemed to remember something. "Wait... where''s Thorne?"
Coy paused before replying, "Mr. Henderson... is still in the room."
They all understood immediately and froze.
Leah was the first to react. "What did
you say? Are you telling me my
brother inw has been in that bitch''s room this whole time since
he
her upstairs?"
Coy nodded but added, "It doesn''t necessarily mean anything."
He still believed Thorne was deeply in love with Vesta. Even if Thorne''s behavior toward Charlene seemed to bechanging, he wouldn''t do anything to hurt Vesta.
