Chapter 561

Most of the people camping tonight were there for the meteor shower. Unfortunately, by one in the morning, the sky remained stubbornly dark, and Charlene and her friends decided to call it a night.

Stewart, York, and Gaylord watched her until she disappeared into her tent. Once she was gone, Stewart cleared his throat. "She''s not officially divorced yet," he said, looking between the two men. "Whatever you''re nning, keep it subtle. Don''t cause her any trouble."

"I know," Gaylord said immediately, his brow furrowing. "But if I remember correctly, her waiting period was over ages ago. Why isn''t it finalized? Did something go wrong?"

York already knew the story from Stewart, so he stayed quiet.

Stewart sighed, annoyed at having to exin it again. "Her ex had somethinge upst time and missed the finalization window. They had to refile."

"So when does the new waiting period end?" Gaylord pressed.

"Don''t worry, it''s soon. Sometime this month." Stewart was exhausted and ready for bed. He stifled a yawn and waved a hand. "I''m turning in. You guys can—"

It Wasn''t that he wasn''t curious) he just felt it was her past. Once the divorce was final, whoever the man was would be a stranger. Besides, if he was lucky enough to end up with Charlene, he figured she would tell him when she was ready.  s

But tonight, after spending more time with her than ever before, he found his curiosity piqued. He knew he, Gaylord, and even Granger wer all strong contenders by any measure. Yet Charlene, while always polite, clearly felt more burdened by their attention than ttered. It was as if she waspletely immune to them.  s

He suddenly had to know about the man she had married.

Gaylord had tried to look into him before but came up empty. Worried about overstepping, he had stopped digging He, too, felt Charlene''s utterck of interest and his curiosity about her husband had only grown Now, hearing York''s question, he turned his gaze to Stewart.

Stewart paused, his expression hardening. He clearly had no desire to talk about Thorne. "Him?" he scoffed. "He''s a piece of work."

With that, he turned and disappeared into his tent, leaving York and Gaylord<fnd5c3> ??? ????? ???????s ??? ?????s??? ?? find?novel</fnd5c3>
