?Chapter 1079:
The weight of his presence was undeniable. It was the heavy, manding aura of someone who held power. One quick nce from him nearly took Mny’s breath away. She even feared that she might disappear from Ontdale in an instant.
“You…” Mny opened her mouth to say something, but the words died on her lips. She couldn’t speak.
It hit her that if she interrupted Allison again, she would probably be dragged out for everyone to see, which would be a public humiliation. After all, Ken, much like Allison, didn’t care about the rules or how things were supposed to look.
Fabian took in the scene around him, his gaze scanning the crowd. “Since Ms. rke is busy fixing the jewelry, I kindly ask that no one interrupt her.”
His voice was calm and steady, yet it carried a weight that demanded attention.
“Anyone who can’t stay quiet will be asked to leave.”
Fabian’s and Ken’s warnings had the desired effect. The whispers stopped immediately.
Allison, on the other hand, stayedpletely focused, her gaze fixed on the brooch.
Click! She snapped the brush in two, using one half to carefully clean the debris off the jewelry.
Once that was done, she picked up the tiny broken pieces with tweezers and ced them gently on the table. Her movements were smooth and practiced.
The once lively banquet hall fell silent. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on her, waiting in silence.
It was obvious to anyone that the craftsmanship of the brooch was incredibly intricate. It was hard to imagine how Allison could possibly fix it. Still, she waspletely absorbed in the task, asionally speaking to Ken only to ask for a tool. The two of them moved together as if they were reading each other’s minds.
“I can’t believe she’s actually going to fix it.”
Mny gritted her teeth, fighting to keep her anger in check. She silently prayed in her head, hoping Allison would slip up. If she made even the tiniest mistake, Mny would seize the chance to make sure Allison couldn’t recover from it.
While Mny was lost in her thoughts, Colton noticed the disturbance and made his way through the crowd to see what was going on.
“Mny, what are you doing here?” Colton asked coldly, his brow furrowing as he sensed something wasn’t right.
“Colton, I just wanted to take a walk. I didn’t expect there would be such a scene here, so I came over to watch.”
Mny lowered hershes, feeling a twinge of guilt. She gently took Colton’s hand and ced it on her slightly rounded belly.
“See? The baby is calm and seems to enjoy the excitement.”
Even though Colton hated Mny for what had happened in the past and felt disgusted by her, the child in her belly was his, so he didn’t pull his hand away. “Alright.”
