?Chapter 1668:
“Dr. Brooks, did our strategy seed?” Tamara’s voice carried eager anticipation the moment she answered the call.
Dr. Brooks swallowed hard before delivering his devastating news. “I must apologize, Mrs. Wright. Our attempt has failed catastrophically. Not only did the memory suppression copse, but Mr. Wright has also discovered your role in orchestrating the erasure of his memories.”
“What did you just say?” The color drained from Tamara’s face as the full weight of this revtion crashed down upon her.
“What happened? Why did everything fall apart?” Tamara’s voice quivered with panic.
“I’m truly sorry, Mrs. Wright,” Dr. Brooks replied, his tone thick with remorse. “At that moment, an urgent situation arose—my assistant rushed into the treatment room and broke the flow of the hypnosis. To make matters worse, Mr. Wright’s willpower was far stronger than anticipated. The drug I administered beforehand wasn’t potent enough, which caused the failure—he regained consciousness earlier than expected. I didn’t expect it would end up like this.”
Tamara’s fury ignited further at his exnation. “What on earth was your assistant thinking? How could such a blunder happen at such a critical juncture? And why didn’t you prepare an adequate dose before beginning the hypnosis?”
“I’m terribly sorry,” Dr. Brooks repeated, unable to offer anything more than his earnest apology.
On the other end of the line, Tamara’s chest rose and fell rapidly, her face a tempest of emotions.
After a moment of silence, she asked coldly, “Since this attempt failed, is there any possibility of trying again?”
Dr. Brooks answered carefully, “In the near future, no. A repeat session could risk harming Mr. Wright’s neurons. Besides, he no longer has any trust in me, and without that trust, any further attempt at hypnosis is next to impossible.”
Tamara’s expression soured further as the words struck her. Such a golden opportunity was squandered. The more she dwelled on it, the more infuriating it became.

“You need to deal with this disaster,” she said icily, then hung up without waiting for a response.
On his end, Dr. Brooks stood frozen, his expression equally grim.
