    ?Chapter 1627:

“Well, if she has moved out, there won’t be any disruptions,” Lucas dered with finality.

Once again, Georgie was rendered at a loss for words for a moment. She then gathered herself, softening her approach. “But Lucas, throwing Faye out so suddenly must have shattered her heart. She’s probably sad right now. Tomorrow, you should reach out to her and apologize. At least then she won’t feel so awful about it.”

Lucas released augh that held no humor whatsoever. The sound made Georgie’s stomach clench with sudden unease.

“Georgie, are you still groggy from sleep? That’s the only exnation I can find for such a ridiculous suggestion,” Lucas shot back, clearly unbothered by the damage his words might inflict.

“I…” Georgie’s teeth found her lower lip as heat flooded her cheeks. “I did just wake up, so maybe my mind isn’t clear.”

Lucas seized the opportunity to end the conversation. “If you’re still groggy, then go back to sleep. Don’t waste my time with meaningless chatter.”

Georgie’s face crumpled with embarrassment as his dismissal hit its mark. “Alright, I understand. You should probably get some rest yourself.”<fn15eb> Get full chapters from ?ovelFind</fn15eb>

Lucas didn’t bother responding and ended the call.

A quiet scoff escaped his lips as he turned toward the bedroom.

Afterpleting his nighttime routine, Lucas slipped back beneath the covers where Belinda waited. She had already surrendered to drowsiness, but her body instinctively gravitated toward his warmth, eyes remaining sealed shut as she nestled against his chest.

Lucas curved his arm around her sleeping form, lowering his head to kiss her forehead tenderly. His voice emerged as barely more than a whisper.

    “Goodnight.”

    “Mmm, goodnight,” Belinda murmured back.

“Zaria, you’re finally up?” Tamara’s voice carried across the room.

Zaria swallowed hard, forcing a smile as she walked toward the living room. “Dr. Brooks is here.”

The man seatedfortably on her sofa was unmistakably Elwood’s personal psychologist.

“Ms. Wright.” Dr. Brooks acknowledged Zaria’s presence with practiced professionalism, his smile polished and reassuring.

Zaria fought to inject casualness into her voice, though her heart hammered against her ribs. “What brings you to my home this morning?”
