Chapter 1621

    ?Chapter 1621:

“Get out of my way! Interfere, and you’ll regret it—trust me!” a threatening voice shot back.

“I’m not letting you take her!” the first voice retorted, undeterred.

Drawn to the noise, Belinda and Lucas turned toward the chaos. At the counter, a man in an expensive suit was arguing fiercely with the bartender, all while supporting a woman slumped from too much drink.

Upon recognizing the woman’s identity, Lucas’ and Belinda’s faces shifted dramatically. The person being forcibly led away was none other than Faye.

Lucas’ expression turned grim, his eyes shing with fury. In a few swift steps, he closed the gap between himself and the man, delivering a powerful punch straight to his jaw.

The impact echoed with a loud crack, sending a jolt through everyone nearby.

“Argh!” the man yelped, clutching his cheek as he staggered back, copsing onto the floor.

As his hold on Faye weakened, she began to slump downward. Belinda, quick on her feet, lunged forward, catching Faye just in time to prevent her from crashing to the floor.

Despite being saved, Faye remained unconscious, her eyes tightly shut. It was clear just how drunk she was.

The man, still reeling from the blow, groaned as he struggled to his feet, muttering curses under his breath. He clenched his fist, poised to strike back.

“Who the hell thinks they cany a hand on me? I’ll make them regret—”

His threat cut off as his gaze locked onto Lucas’ face. His raised fist froze midair, and the curses died on his lips. The anger on his face drained away, reced by sheer panic and terror.

“M-Mr. rk… what are you doing here?” he stammered, his voice trembling.

Lucas’ eyes flicked to the man’s still-raised fist, a cold, mocking smile curling his lips. “Were you nning to hit me?” he asked, his voice low.

The man’s face drained of all color, his panic intensifying. “No, no, no! Of course not! Why would I do that?” he blurted, quickly withdrawing his hand. “I was… I was just about to hit myself, I swear!”

To emphasize his words, he smacked his own face without hesitation.

“Where exactly were you nning to take her?” Lucas demanded, his tone icy.

The man’s face grew even paler, his terror palpable. “N-Nowhere! I wasn’t taking her anywhere! I just saw she was out of it and thought I would, you know, get her to a safer ce!” he said.

Lucas suddenly let out augh. He took a measured step forward, his gaze drilling into the man before him.

“So, let me get this straight…” His tone turned ice-cold. “I should probably thank you for wanting to get my niece to a safer ce.”

The word niece hit the man like a gunshot. His face drained of all color. His mouth parted, but nothing came out.

Niece? The woman he had been trying to take away was Lucas’ niece? His breath hitched. Fear flooded his expression. Beads of cold sweat broke across his brow, trickling down his face as his legs threatened to buckle.
