Chapter 906

"It''s not that, I''m just telling you to be gentle."

"I know. I''m being very careful," he murmured, his voiceced with endless affection. Ever since they learned Ste was carrying triplets, Ronald had been exercising extreme self-control. Dn was checking on her every other day, but sometimes Ste was so exhausted they could only manage one check-up.

"Sis called me just now. Maybe you should have here back?"

"Hmm?" Ronald looked at her, confused by the sudden mention of Yvonne returning.

Ste exined, "She was under too much psychological stress recently. She said she thinks she''s having mental health issues again."

Ronald''s expression hardened. Hearing those words, his breath hitched. "Mental health issues?"

"Yeah. She said she throws up whenever she gets anxious."

Thinking about it, Ste''s heart ached for Yvonne. Some might think a person with Yvonne''s fiery personality wouldn''t be prone to such problems, but Ste knew how fragile her sister truly was underneath. She felt things very deeply. If she didn''t, the whole ordeal with Dan years ago wouldn''t have broken her so badly that it took several psychiatrists to help her recover.

"Let here back. To be honest, I don''t think she should be involved in anything rted to Dan," Ste said earnestly.

At that moment, Ronald wasn''t overthinking the ''throwing up when anxious'' part. He just nodded. "I''ll contact her."

She was his sister, after all. Hearing that she was struggling, nothing else mattered.

Ronald went to his study to call Yvonne. Ste was about to organize the baby things when a maid knocked on the door. "Ma''am, a Miss Tegan James called. She said she''ll be here to see you shortly."

    "Tegan?"

    "Yes, ma''am."

Ste nced at her phone''s call log. There was no missed call from Tegan; she must have called while Ste was on the phone with Yvonne.

"Did she say when she''d arrive?"

    "In about half an hour."

Ste was surprised. That girl hade all the way to Ferrond? She wondered how things were going between Tegan and Uriah Horner, Thinking about. Helena, the woman who stood between them made Ste''s heart ache for Tegan.

Ste put down the tiny onesie she was holding. "Take all of this and have it sterilized."

    "Yes, ma''am," the maid replied

    respectfully. Ever since Lottie had

dealt with the staff who were

gossiping about Ronald and Ste''s rtionship, everyone had be exceedingly polite and

    and deferential to

    her.

Ste headed downstairs to wait for Tegan. As she reached the top of the staircase,

she saw Finley, covered in dust and grime, stumbling in from outside.

    Ste stopped in her tracks.

Spotting her, Finley rushed forward. Before Ste could even react, he dropped to his knees in front of her with a loud thud.

    Ste was speechless.

So was everyone else in the room.

All eyes were on Finley, who looked just as shocked as they were. No, no, he hadn''t meant to kneel—he''d just... tripped! Oh, whatever.

Finley threw his arms around Ste''s legs. "Star, you have to save me! Ronald is a monster! He''s trying to leave me to die in that godforsaken Muliba Desert!"

Finley was sobbing his heart out, andbined with his wretched appearance; it made the corner of Ste''s mouth twitch She

instinctively tried to pull her leg free. "Let go. He''s not going to let you die."  s?novels

What a joke. Ronald would never let anything happen to one of his own. Even if he sent Finley to the Muliba Desert, it was undoubtedly for an important mission.

"He''s really not a good person..." Finley wailed.

"How did you get back?" Ste asked.

    "I ran!"

Ste was stunned. Just how much had this guy suffered in the Muliba Desert? It

had driven him to literally run all the way back.
