Chapter 753

"How about that book on mechanical traps? I have to say, the security systems you set up in your mansion over the years are the most impressive I''ve ever seen."

Yvonne had never seen anything so intricately designed.

She''d tried to create her own setups after that, but they never quite measured up.

Over the years, plenty of people had tried to get their hands on Hull''s book about mechanical traps, but no one had ever seeded.

Now, Yvonne was curious-would Hull finally part with his legendary secrets, just to get Susanna back?

As soon as she asked, there was a chill in the air, even over the phone. Hull''s voice dropped, full of warning: "Yvonne."

    Suddenly, Hull sounded downright dangerous.

Yvonne nced at Chloe beside her.

Chloe nced at theptop screen, then shot Yvonne a sign to hang up.

But Yvonne was stubborn. She pressed on.

"So, Hull. Will you give it to me?"

    Hull replied, “Sure."

    Yvonne almost choked. "Wait-seriously?"

Was this really happening? Hull, who never budged on anything, was actually giving in.

Meanwhile, Hull watched as more and more red dots clustered on Ss''sputer screen, a sly smile tugging at his lips. "When are you bringing her back?"

"You''re not just messing with me, right?" Yvonne asked, suspicious.

Hull looked at the screen again, Ss giving him a thumbs-up-target found.

Hull''s smile turned colder. "Why would I ess with you? Are you bringing her back yourself, or should Ie pick her up?"

His tone was yful now, almost teasing, like an older brother winding up his little sister.

Yvonne didn''t catch the shift. "I''ll bring her back, don''t worry. She''ll be there, safe and sound, no missing pieces."

"I want to see her tonight."

Yvonne gaped-wow, Susanna must really mean something to Hull. She''d better be careful with her going forward, make sure not to let anything happen to her.

After that, Yvonne just hung up and turned to Chloe.

"Wow, he really would give up anything for her."

Chloe snickered. "Told you. Word''s out all over Ferrond-Hull''s willing to trade anything. You finally believe me now?"

Yvonne nodded, grinning. "Didn''t see thating."

Maybe Hull had feelings for Susanna? If so, Lacey just found herself a powerful new ally.

    Dan is toast.

Chloe suddenly got serious. "We need to move. Now."

    "Wait, what?" Yvonne blinked.

Chloe looked grim. "Mr. Miguel''s guys are good. They''ve already locked in our location."

Yvonne stared. "Hang on, it''s barely been two minutes!"

    Chloe nodded. "Yep."

In less than two minutes, they''d been tracked. They''d underestimated Hull''s people.

Yvonne scowled. "Well, what are we waiting for? Grab your gear, let''s get out of here!"

    Chloe was already moving.

Meanwhile, Susanna was out back, target shooting with Eunice.

She''d picked up the basics from Hull three days ago, but without practice, she''d pretty much forgotten it all.

    When Yvonne found them,

Susanna''s shots were all over the girl

    ce. Yvonne winced-this the et

needed at least a month before she''d hit anything reliably

Susanna shot Yvonne a re and rolled her eyes.

Yvonne justughed. "Wow, look at her, giving me attitude already."

Chloe had to cover her mouth to keep fromughing out loud. After all they''d been through, even the biggest favor could turn you into an enemy for a few days. A single eye roll was nothing.

Eunice nodded at Yvonne. "What''s up?"

Yvonne said briskly, "Pack up. We''re moving."

    "Moving?" Susanna echoed.

Yvonne shot her a look. "Hull''s hot on our trail. Let''s go, chop chop."

If they''d been tracked already, Hull would be here soon. And there could be eyes on the street, too.

Finding another safe spot would be tough, especially now that Hull was on high alert.

But instead of panicking, Susanna''s eyes lit up. "I''m not leaving."

    No one could guess-she''d been

    hified

Hull when she was now, all she wanted

    see him again.

Yvonne looked at her like she''d grown a second head. "Are you okay?"
