Chapter 743

    The Quinn Family, right now.

Ronald had just finished calming Ste down when he heard Hull''s call

demanding someone''s presence. He rubbed his temples, feeling a headacheing on.

    "Hugo, he "

    "Ronald."

He was about to exin that Hugo really couldn''t make it right now, but when he looked down, he saw Ste staring up at him, wide-eyed and pleading.

    His headache only got worse.

In the end, with Ste clinging pitifully to his shirt, Ronald sighed into the phone, "Alright."

    He hung up.

He gently pinched Ste''s cheek. "You, I swear..."

There was just no winning with her.

Susanna had just been whisked away by Yvonne, and on top of that, Ste had finally blown up at Dan, exposing the rift between them.

    Ste was clearly tense.

She pouted at Ronald''s mock-scolding, grumbling, "But Susie can''t get hurt."

"You don''t trust your own sister?"

Ste replied, "I don''t trust her temper, that''s for sure."

    It was true.

Yvonne, on a good day, could actually be pretty reasonable—she''d at least listen

to logic. But right now? It was a whole different ballgame.

At the moment, Yvonne was all fire and no brakes. There was no telling what she might do.

But Ronald didn''t see it that way. "Rx. She''s not going to eat Susie alive."

"Not literally," Ste muttered, barely holding back her nerves.

    "Hm?" Ronald raised a brow.

Ste huffed, "But she might go full drill sergeant and spend three days straight whipping Susie into shape."

And honestly? Not even Ste could have survived that. She remembered the time Yvonne put her through a whole month of that "special training." She''d nearly lost her mind.

    Never underestimate Yvonne''s

ability to whip someone into shape. That month was her "beginner''s boot camp." For people with more experience, half that time and you''de out a top-notch expert.

Ronald had a whole crew of people who owed their skills to Yvonne. Even seasoned guys woulde out of her two-week program ready for anything.

He chuckled at Ste''s indignant tone. "Weren''t you the one who called her in the first ce?"

"I didn''t know Dan was Susie''s brother then!" Ste groaned.

Back then, she''d just been worried about Lacey and the chaos at ck Gate.

If Susanna could toughen up, maybe she''d be able to help Lacey-or at least keep herself safe. Even when she learned Dan was running the show at ck Gate, she hadn''t connected the dots.

But Dan being Susie''s brother? That was a curveball she hadn''t seening.

"Wait, how can Dan be Susie''s brother, anyway? The ages don''t add up!"

Susie was obviously younger than Dan.

Ronald exined, "He''s her brother in name, not by blood."

    Ste squinted. "What?"

Ronald shrugged. "I don''t know the details."

    Ste''s eyes went wide. "Seriously?"

It was all a mess. But one thing was clear: if Dan and Susanna were really blood-rted, Dan would be the older one no question. As for how Dan ended up being the "younger brother" at ck Gate, who knew what kind of drama had gone down there.  té

Ste sighed, "I''m just worried about Susie."

She meant it. She''d witnessed Yvonne''s brutal training firsthand, and this time,

Yvonne had taken Susanna away in a fury—clearly pissed at Dan.

So, yeah. Their worst fears hade true: Susanna had gotten caught in the crossfire.

Meanwhile, Dan woke up to the news that Yvonne had taken Susanna away.

    He almost cked out again.

Scar, his right-hand man, hurried to his side. "Sir!"

Dan gritted his teeth. "She took my mother''s daughter-what is she nning to do?"

What was Hull''s job, anyway? Didn''t he im his mansion was a fortress?

Even if someone managed to slip inside, the ce was like a meat grinder. No matter how skilled you were, you''d get shredded if you weren''t careful.
