Noelle was furious. "I''ve never met anyone more shameless than you."
Xenia replied in her usual sweet tone, "I can''t remember exactly how many times the script was revised, but I contributed to the initial idea and the storyline. You can''t just discard me after using my idea."
Noelle was amused. She turned to the industry professionals around her.
"Did you all hear that? Xenia''s so-called ''contribution'' was just some useless suggestions that were never adopted. She spoke once, and now she thinks she deserves credit for my script."
The crowd was outraged.
"This is beyond shameless! How dare she im she contributed without any proof?"
"I''ve heard that the Liddell family treats their biological sister poorly while spoiling their adopted sister. Now I finally see it for myself."
Everyone in the room had written their fair share of maniptive characters and saw through Xenia''s act instantly.
Xenia stammered, "It''s not like that. I really participated in the scriptwriting."
Someone scoffed. "Then show the drafts you worked on. Drop the pitiful act."
Xenia immediately went silent. She had no drafts to show and looked to Donovan for help.
Donovan was furious as well and red at ke. "Don''t think that bringing Noelle here will change anything.
"I''ve already decided that Xenia will manage thepany. You should take a break ande back after the storm dies down."
As the shareholder, Donovan''s word could determine ke''s fate. Which meant ke was kicked out.
A glint of triumph shed in Xenia''s eyes. She turned to ke with a sickeningly sweet voice.
"Don''t worry, ke. I''ll take good care of thepany. I''ll be sure to ask for your advice if I run into any trouble."
Noelle rolled her eyes. "ke has been running thepany this whole time. Xenia, you scored a zero on your college entrance exam, so you probably can''t even read a financial report. You think you can manage apany?"
Donovan felt humiliated. "Noelle, you''re just a scriptwriter and don''t understand business either. From now on, any script you write must be approved by Xenia."
Xenia grew even more smug. So what if Noelle was a talented writer? She was still just a worker under her control.
Xenia feigned concern. "Noelle, I
know you''re great at writing scripts, but you wouldn''t be here without thepany''s support. I hope you can keep producing better work. Thepany can''t give you special treatment."
She then leaned in and whispered, "You''ll never beat me no matter how hard you struggle."
Noelle shoved her away. "ke begged me to write those scripts because they were good, which is why they got fast-tracked into production.
"It wasn''t due to any special treatment. I told you. You don''t understand business, but you still refuse to believe me."
ke stepped in as well. "That''s right. I did beg Noelle to write those scripts. She may be a neer, but everyone can see her talent."
"But a scriptwriter''s work is nothing without apany!" Xenia couldn''t stand how ke kept defending Noelle.
Noelle burst outughing. "Did you all hear that? ording to Xenia, we scriptwriters are nothing."
That remark enraged the entire room.
Xenia realized she had said the
wrong thing and quickly tried to
backtrack. "I didn''t mean it like that! I wasonly talking about Noelle, not everyone else."
Someone in the crowd finally snapped. "Mr. Donovan, you''re putting a greenie in charge of thepany! Are you trying to make it go bankrupt even faster?"
Donovan shot Xenia a disappointed look. What an idiot! Still, he defended her.
"I will hire a general manager to run thepany. Xenia will learn from them, so there won''t be any issues with management."
ke smirked. "Donovan, you don''t get to decide who the general manager is."
He finally caught onto Donovan''s stubbornness and knew he was dead set on usingpany resources to support Xenia. In that case, ke wouldn''t hold back.
Donovan scoffed. "I hold the most shares in thepany. Why wouldn''t I have the final say?"
