Chapter 467

Noelle had assumed Donovan only agreed to marry a girl with a disability

because he wanted the Cantrell family''s power. However, she never expected him to agree with the matrilocal arrangement.

Donovan had always been so dominant-could he really handle being treated like that? She seriously doubted it.

Magnus raised an eyebrow. "You really didn''t know? This engagement was arranged over a year ago. I had no idea. He rarely came back, and he never mentioned it."

In her past life, Noelle only discovered this in college-and even then, it was through Xenia''s gossip. But back then, Donovan never mentioned being a live-in son-inw. He probably found it too humiliating to admit.

Noelle scoffed. "It was no wonder the Liddells have been growing so fast this past year. Donovan''s been insanely busy and barely even returned home."

It all made sense now-he must have been using the Cantrell family''s resources to expand.

However, it was not just Donovan''s business that had skyrocketed-ke and Lucas''s businesses had also skyrocketed, with tons of new opportunities pouring in. It finally dawned on Noelle that this was where all those resources had reallye from.

Magnus knew that Noelle had achieved her sess through hard work. He smirked and said, "A man who lives off a woman''s family has no right to threaten you."

Now that Noelle had already pieced it together, she nced at Magnus and said, "Thanks for showing up. But how did you even know I was here?"

Her press conference had been strictly confidential, and only Cedric had known.

Magnus shrugged. "I was at TG Public Rtions earlier and saw you leaving. Looked into it a little and found out you had a press conference, so I figured I''de watch the show."

Like hell, he would admit he overheard Emma mentioning Noelle on the phone and rushed over to back her up. Hearing the answer, Noelle did not question it further.

Instead, she turned to the TG Public Rtions team and said, "It looks like the in- house press conference isn''t happening anymore."

"Ms. Liddell, don''t worry just yet. Let me go back and see if there''s a way to salvage this," Tilly reassured her. She nned to report this unexpected situation

to Cedric first, and only then could they decide on the next steps.

Magnus caught on to what the team was implying. He turned to Noelle and said, "The Cantrells have always had a lot of influence over the media-way more than TG Public Rtions. Donovan''s pretty damn resourceful, managing totch onto them like this."

After all, not everyone could ess the Cantrells'' resources. Noelle replied, "I know, but that doesn''t mean I''m out of options."

    The Liddells were scrambling to

cover things up because they did not

want her to expose the truth. Nheless, even if they silenced her, it would not change the fact that ke would still be held

    о

ountable for what he did, and his career was on the line.

The ones who should be panicking right now were not her—it was them.

Magnus noticed the slight worry in Noelle''s expression and smirked confidently.

"You don''t need to stress. This might be handled by tomorrow."

If Cedric had not been out of town, the press conference would have gone as nned. But now, with Emma and the Cantrells getting involved, things had gotten, plicated.

Noelle nced at Magnus and said, "I''ll take your word for it. Anyway, I''m heading back to campus now. I''ll treat you to a meal sometime."

Magnus had helped her out multiple times already, and she would not forget that.

Magnus grinned. "I''ll give you a ride, then. Might as well swing by your training base and see if your team is even good enough topete with us."

"Sure," Noelle agreed without hesitation. "If you''re there to push them, they''ll improve even faster."

Having Magnus as a training partner was an opportunity no one on her team wanted to miss. After that, they left together.

    ...

Meanwhile, Tilly immediately called Cedric. "Mr. Greene, I have something to report. Today''s press conference was canceled."

    Cedric''s brows furrowed. "Why?"

Everything had been set up before he left, and there was no reason for it to be called off suddenly. After hearing Tilly''s exnation, he could not help but be surprised. He had not expected the Cantrell family to interfere, and even more unexpected was that Donovan was engaged to the Cantrells'' daughter.

    His voice dropped. "How''s Noelle?"

"Ms. Liddell''s handling it well," Tilly reassured him. "And Mr. Magnus showed up to

back her up. She wasn''t at a disadvantage."
